Found a bottle of Safer brand "And and Crawling Insect Killer"

the bottle says it contains

-Silicon Dioxide, from Diatomaceous Earth 77.69%
-other ingredients 22.31%

It seems safe but Im not sure what the 22.31% might be. I checked the label on the back of the bottle and the warning signs were only for contact with the eyes. To rinse thoroughly but nothing about it being poisonous or bad for plants etc.

anyone use this? might try on my plants in order to control some small flying insects fruit flies, knats?

sounds safe to me, what i avoide putting in the soil for killing any bug s is something that contains salts, like safers soap, or other brands of insecticidal soap, imo good for the leaves or killing on contact but not as a soil drench...

what you got should be good, sounds organic...the other 22% is most likely water and/or surfactants...

Cover your soil with 1-2 inches of garden sand, best way to kill those little buggers. I tried Safers and really didn't work, they always found a place to hide. With the sand they can't burrow through to hatch or lay new eggs.
