Black Lab Hawkeye, who lay down and mourned at the casket of his owner, fallen Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson. Sometimes it's hard to express pure emotion in words. That's why we have photos like this, taken during Tumilson's funeral service in Rockford, Iowa.

One of my guinea pigs was very attached to other guinea pigs....
One day its guinea pig friend died of a sudden stroke....
That guinea pig would not leave the spot where its guinea pig friend had died....
It was lying down for two or three days just like this dog....
It did not want to leave its friend....
It did not even want to leave the scent of its friend....

I bet this dog was very attached to its owner and the owner was a good person as well

:ying: kind regards from guineapig :ying:

our companions understand life & death, not in the same way that we do but they understand it still to some degree. very sad picture and story, I remember when it happened.

I tell my little me that I know of a book that tells us to live our lives as if we are looking through the eyes of a child and that to me that means to be honest and call it like you see it for as you get older all the years of holding in your farts clouds your judgement for that is why I think these words were written.

She says "holding in your farts?" I say yes sweetie you will find that kids and animals have clear minds and can FEEL a good or bad person and they openly speak about it and will let you know if they think you are a bad person. But as you get older society as a whole teaches you to hold your opinions just like your farts and then they travel up your spine get into your brain and that's where shitty ideas come from.

Now you might need to read the above paragraph twice to understand it but to me life is like growing KISS rules and any way I can make life fun and easy to understand it sticks and all we can do is try and ALWAYS stay young at heart and in mind to be our best imho.

Have A Great Day

Pets will always love you unconditionally. They will never lie to you, and they will never leave you. When I adopted my cats 11 years ago, I knew it was a lifetime commitment.

I usually enjoy the holiday season, but this one has turned into a nightmare of hopelessness and despair. My wife of 4 years left me for another man on Christmas Eve. That was supposed to be a lifetime commitment too, but I guess it doesn't always work that way. I don't know what to do, except try to rebuild my life somehow. I'll have to take a little break from growing, maybe just a few months. I have to take a break from cannabis in general until I get my head straightened out. It used to relax me and help me enjoy life, but right now it just makes these feelings worse.

Without a doubt the one that misses him the most.
We have a lot to learn with many of our animal companions.
Thanks for sharing it.

Unconditional and without limit, the love of my dog far surpasses any love I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She judges not, She loves always, and whenever gloom rears it's ugly head she is there to share the vision as if it was hers alone. In these waning years of her life I realize just how much I will one day give up.

Hey m314,

It may not seem like it now (obviously), but this could be the best thing that ever happened to you. My husband went through the same thing, but a little worse if that's possible... He was even contemplating ending it all. We met about a year and a half later, and we're total soul mates, two of the same etc.. He is SO glad he caught his wife (of 17 years) in bed with another guy, and that was only one of the many, he found out!! We would never have met. He's happier now than he's ever been. Just wait for the windows to open!
Sorry about the off topic thing, but this is life changing stuff that needs to be addressed!
Peace,
Mrs. Majestral

Just wanted to say thanks. I know this was way off topic, but it did turn out to be a sad way to end 2011. I'm doing better now. This will turn out to be a good thing in the end. I'll meet new people, and I'll find someone better. That's good to hear about you and your husband. Sometimes bad events lead to better things, and some stories do have happy endings.
