gypsys been extremely kind hes gone totaly out of his way to be nice to me and guess what??? I NEVER MET THE FELLOW!!! ive talked to him online for 3 yrs now and hes been nice to me .....and when i didnt have a penny he would send me his magazine and other goodies at no cost out of the the kindness of a fellow stoners heart....100% of the negative shit i read i immediately dismiss as B.S. I think hardly anyone (if anyone at all) understands why I am so bitter twoards R.C. So I will try and explain as simply and as best I can...

I have no beef with making a bit of money off of seeds sales, hell, it would be hypocritical to say so on a site that does that same. However...here's the difference:

OG had over 100,000 members. Heck I remember logging in when there were more active users online than the total of ICMAG users online and off put together (I'm not trying to put down ICMAG either!). OG was supposed to be a centralized location for anti-prohibition and a way to help the movement and support MJ enthusiast. R.C. had one of the biggest anti-prohibition armies ever imaginabal at his finfer tips. R.C. could have maybe made a bigger defference wih the O.G community than anyone else in the world...more so than M.E.

You know, Crazy Composer said it best in a response to one of my posts. Words can be powerfull, more so than actions some times....and well, I feel we had the biggest and baddest weapon with O.G. on our side. I'm sure many thought so too??? I don't mean to sound condescending twoards ICMAG either...this place rocks and is really taking shape...

But R.C. chose to make great profits rather than to help the cause and make proper use of O.G...R.C chose to maximize sales rather than to help out the movement. R.C. had the power and money to make the site secure and unstopable. My beef with R.C. is that O.G was used for the wrong purposes..

Does anyone understand where I'm comming from??? Has nothing to do with jelousy or making money off the "poor" marijuana grower. He made no money off me...so I have no beef in that respect. But when OG went down, a lot of things hurt and instead of OG being used as the biggest and baddest weapon, it had a much more devastating effect on it's own creators....

RC owned OG. RC could do whatever the hell he wanted with OG when it was up, up to and including using it to make money money and more money if he saw fit to do so. Free enterprise, 21st century and all that...

Maybe RC's ideas for OG weren't exactly what you wished they were? Sorry to tell ya, but that's your problem. Maybe he didn't want to be leader of an anti-prohibitionist movement and was just in it for a buck? Isn't that his own fuckin' business...pardon my French?

That your beef with OG is that it was used for what YOU define the wrong purposes is a bit ridiculous, the only one entitled to decide what the purpose of OG was supposed to be is RC.

You're entitled to like or dislike RC. You're not entitled to judge him for his choice of direction of his website....

and on a side note....as an intelligent grower and consumer....I hightailed from OG just as soon as the Emery bust went down, knowing the servers were in Canada. If you didn't feel secure on a Canadian based server, then why do you lay the blame on RC, when ultimately it was your choice to register, post, or not register and not post? There was no secret as to where the servers were based. Nobody hid that information from you. You made an informed choice when you registered, and as an adult with the faculty to choose, you either reap the benefits or pay the consequences....without bitching.

P.S. Rez has more right to be here than you do, and I'd infinitely prefer to read him than you, as would most members here. Having said that,

.......It always amazes me when I see people make a post about someone they have never met in real life.......Our internet personalities seem to be shaped not necessarily by what we are or do in the real world......but how different people perceive it on-line......shape it ....and broadcast it.....by writing stuff about a certain entity......R.C. in this case.........sometimes they write stuff about me...

....Any criticism should be constructive.....to the point of if you are criticising someone for not doing something you think they should have done.......in this case 'To be a Marijuana warrior'......Then I reckon that your energies had best lie in acheiving that yourself before levying blame/criticism at anothers door.......

....RC kept O.G. going for as long as he could........untill they were knocking down his door.......and O.G. was for many years a place where many of us felt a sense of 'community'.....He paid the bills......and believe you me it is not cheap to run a forum site such as O.G......or I.C.M. for that matter........However he made the funds that it took to do that is immaterial......At one point O.G. needed a new server and I 'stepped up to the plate'........When finally the people that originally owned O.G. could not pay the mounting server costs R.C. stepped in and paid the bills and continued to do that for some time......I can't see where or why he sould be put down for doing that......

I miss Ovegrow....as most all of us do.....for the best part of 6 years I found O.G. as a place to converse laugh and learn with like minded people.....

....The best I can do is keep this site up and running right now .....and hope that one day O.G. might come back and be as good as it ever was.....I.C.M. was innitially supposed to be O.G.'s 'sister/brother' site....

I'm not a big fan of capitalism either but honestly, I bet running a site like OG couldn't have been cheap. How else will the man pay the bills for running the site?? Either ways, the RC did a very professional job, as far as I can tell. He only focused on OG the site (instead of say, entering politics or what not) but he did his job well.

If he was an over greedy person, he could've easily charged membership fees for accessing his services. He never did.

I thought RC ran OG pretty damn well. Shit, from looking up strainguides to growfaqs to finding out in which guest house in Vang Vieng I could score some bud...I guess he maintained such an extensive site and he kept it for free for the ppls, that itself means alot to me. Either ways, a businessman come politician isin't a very desirable combo anyways, and I kinda appreciate RC stuck to his mode of operation.

I have spent far too little personal time with gypsy but I have been a customer since 2000. I have had nothing but positive dealings with him, DG, Seeds Direct, SeedBoutique and Seedbay! I can also say what I said above...

On CBay 'charity': RC ALWAYS took 50% of any and ALL of the auctions,that's why I wouldn't participate in CBay 'charity' events.

When the drama ends and the smoke clears ICM will be stronger than ever, and lets hope that OG does return... for would ICM take up all of OGs ex residents and the rate of return would be horrible. The community needs a big ugly site where kids and haters can get together with other haters and depending on the time of school year, other kids.....

That way, ICM can hum along as the little sister, outclassing the Big Sister at every corner!

And I was a member of OG... Also CW, but ICM was my home, even if I didn't post here as much as I should have.....
