See the thing is, the majority of what I would call the "old school" ICmag crew are people who started at OG (many of them household names), then came over here to ICmag because they got tired of all the BS over there. The whole, I have a fat karma bar, Im a better grower than you, I know more than you, my methods are better than yours, I am Gods gift to marijuana growing attitude that seemed to prevail. ICmag started out as a chummy ole family where everyone was more than happy to help anyone, and nobody got into petty pissing contests.

Don't get me wrong, I loved overgrow. I miss my fat karma bar, it looked nice next to my name :wink: But I miss the old ICmag community too. Seems like alot of the ole crew has jumped ship and deleted their handles, and that ICmag is just the new overgrow now. I have a feeling most of those folks are still lurking around, maybe even posting with new handles.

So with all due respect Mr Mullet, feel free to make yourself at home here, but just remember who build this house, and why they built it :wink:

BTW, those people who left could have stuck around and helped to ensure the site were kept clean of all the debris. They would have been a considerable help. If they are leaving here, the same thing is happening all over again.
I hope one or two of them read this and decide to stick around or come back, and help keep ICMag that same site they loved when the first arrived.
It's your duty to your community and yourself to stand for what you believe in.

Please, learn from the mistakes which were made at OG, and most of all not to repeat them.

BTW if you keep speaking negatively it will make what you say eventually truth, at least to you.

There are still plenty of us old-schoolers lurking around. :wink:

The community is nice, but it's the cause that brings us here. Hard part is... every person has a unique point-of-view as to what the cause is. The cause - from my perspective - is to penetrate every corner of this planet with the knowledge of cultivating the very finest herb. To help ensure that a person's very first toke of herb is an incredible experience, rather than choking and being turned off to it right from the start.

My part in this thing is to learn and to teach. I like knowing that what I teach one person may effect generations of that person's family. And every person down the line who learns can also teach it. My cause is to light fires that the government cannot extinguish. No amount of money can be more valuable than this knowledge.

If there's anything preventing the community from getting back together in full, it's folks thinking their opinions about other people are worth sharing with the world. It's even worse when the people making the accusations don't have much more than a clue about the topic or person they flame.

We have a great power on these forums, each one of us has this power. The power to cause massive trouble with a few typed words, a few ill-conceived opinions about others. Some folks don't realize they have this power, and abuse it at every chance. It's so easy to make a few statements online, and not have any real worries about the consequences. This happens all the time. This is what all these communities have in common, folks who wreak havoc in others' lives because they had an opinion and typed it. I respect all people, even those who do this, but I don't respect these flammings. The flammings are the thorn in the side of these forums. The marijuana community would be better served if our opinions about others were kept personal, and our opinions about cultivating marijuana were shared. The opinions of others that keep getting thrown in between the real info, are a major distraction.

Good to see ya post again - as for the old farts, we're still here watchin and waitin, growin and learnin, hopefully still sharin.

The grow threads have dwindled, and we find it hard to post in good faith, but keepin in touch with our neighbors and old friends is priority.

I should know better than to post in this old ragged thread again, but to those that still want to stir shit and throw mud - I hear there's a site where you can sling away at will without conscience - (*cough* *cough* Planet *cough* *choke* Ganja *cough*).

For the rest of us Gypsy summed it up quite nicely - keep it growin and share the joys of our labors in the gardens. If we teach one person something and he teaches a few more, and so on....... it's all about growin and sharin our plant and becoming self sufficient med users and caregivers to those less fortunate.

Everything else is merely cyber-fodder.
