Havent seen too many led grows but i am not gonna be swapping out my two digi 600 hps and digi 400 hps out anytime soon.

from what ive read leds are way more efficiant and have like to heat so idk i think i may do an led grow sometimes in the future

The ones on ebay don't really equal a 400w hps and those ufo one's certainly are not equivalent to a 600w hps. Good led lights which are extremely expensive I am sure would work well but I only know people who have used the moderately priced, crappy ufo and ebay ones with results far under expectation.

I would never trust LED's or give up my HPS/MH setup. Digital Ballasts are cooler and more energy efficient.

What ive seen of led, i am not impressed.Maybe in the future they will become better, but for me the jury is still out.

Tough the outcome seemed to favor the led I have seen people with different results. I would go t5 over led and hps over t5

but in the same aspect if there is like no heat with an led wouldnt that be the better thing to go for i mean isnt that how most ops get busted

PotHead - Most Operations get busted because of loose lips, informants and material collected in trash. Heat and electricity are usually used to gain more info etc for a warrant.

On the other hand... The sheriff in my county does do fly overs at harvest for outdoor grows... there is also rumors that when they fly over they use thermal scanners.
I only grow indoors in the winter so i dont worry bout it

As far as technology goes the leds would be less heat, allowing for less venting. Perhaps one day LEDs will lead us into new territory but for now all the research i see is LED in Aqauriums and Coral Culture.
