I had a light leak and my plants are seeded.
What can I expect if I plant the seeds. Will it turn out to be exactly like the plant that the seed came from? Could it have traits from the parents of the seeded one? Should I just throw the seeds away? Thanks in advance...………….

The answer to your questions depend on a few factors...

What can I expect if I plant the seeds.

This depends on whether the plants were clones from a single mother, various mothers, or grown from seed.

Could it have traits from the parents of the seeded one?

The simple answer to your second question is yes. They could also have traits from the grandparents, great grandparents,.. etc...

However, that's not necessarily good news. After all, the trait of stress induced hermaphroditism would be among those traits passed on which brings me to your final question...

Should I just throw the seeds away?

Personally, I would. Only because I've never had the time, space, nor inclination to select out the hermaphroditic traits and if a light leak cause them to express this trait it's not unheard of that other stress factors could bring about the same result.

Of course, you could always sprinkle those seeds outdoors somewhere and hope for the best.

Some questions you should answer...

Are the seeded plants from clone or seed?
If clone, is the crop uniform or a variety of specimens?
Is this your first time growing these specimens or have you had prior grows without the hermaphrodite issue?

you would have to find the pollen source .............if its from the seeded plant its self, it will be a s1...............seeds should be fine ............but imo if a plant hermies dew to a slight light leak .. its hermie prone, and that could pass on to the next generation

be interesting to grow em out see what you get

I had some BBs a few yrs before 2000 that I screwed around and had a light leak that seeded the entire crop. I never tried the seeds, I kept some and tried to germ them about 2yrs ago and they wouldn't pop.

On one hand Id say there's to much good stuff around. Why even take a chance unless you got a seperate room .

Them there's always a chance you may find something special. I guess it depends on what you wanna do, and by asking the question it's in your mind to try them out......so Id say give it a try !!!

Seems like a good guess, probably similar to mom and propagating some tendency for herms

Thanks for the replies everybody. Sounds ike I need to plant them and see what happens.

They were grown from cuts. ( all kush crosses) I've started them from seeds about 2 years ago, and been taking cuts as I harvest. I've grown them before with no herm tendencies.
I will plant them just to see what happens. I do have one I would like to try and get more of the blueberry come though.
