rusty looking leaves.....

Can anyone tell me what this is all about?

The new growth looks like there is rust on the leaves, the leaves are a lighter shade of green than the plant next to it, both maple leaf indica. They get the same nutes.. they almost look burned.....maybe to much nutes?

The temp is about 68-79F and i started using co2. They are about 5.5 weeks into flowering. Humidity is arround 40-55%. There are a few red hairs maybe .5% of them.

Im using fox farm ocean soil and using foxfarm nutes tiger bloom and big bloom, only used beistie blooms a few times. The instructions say to use nutes every other watering. Ive been using it 2-3 times in 7 days. I have cha ching but havent used it yet. I use it less than instructions.
None of the nutes have phophorus in them what can i use to add this to it?

I use fresh water every 1 or 2 days keeping the soil damp maybe i skip a day here and there.

Ph is about 7 and run off is about 6.5-6-8. ( Well water )

My light is a HPS 400w. Not to close to them.

They grow roots so fast. now they are i like 8 or 9 gal pots.

There are a few pics here check them out and plz leave feed back. . thanks every one

need A LOT more info

what kind of soil
how much of what kind of nutes
what kind of water
know ppm?
are you adjusting ph
what are you using to test ph
how often do you feed/water

Oh I want to play this game.

First go here

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11688

Now, which one do you think it MOST looks like.

I say Phosphorus !! wow thats a lot of ph's for one word.

It looks suspiciously like early Phosphorus in bloom

maybe you could tells us what your feeding with and the PH of your run off or other details to help how much and how often to you water, pot size blah blah blah isn't there some template for that.

All your bloom nutes have adequate P&K.
Looks are more like pH related, & mg def...but i digress.....

overfed and OVER watered ???? :Bolt:

">>>>>>> 8 or 9 gallon pots feeding 2 or 3 times a week <<<<<<<"

Hi there,

it looks like overfeeding on phosphporous.

5.5 weeks in flowering means that you should cut feeding to half.
Your plants are not growing anymore and they direct all energy to buds.

I would water when soil is dry. Make sure you have good drainage.

Good luck

um depth.... calcium deficiency is the LAST thing it would ever be.. calcium does not show brown spots it shows redish brown and the spots are small and most of the time they start of leaves edges.... but can start in the leaves middle area random places on the leaves.

So, I can guarantee you that this is NOT calcium deficiency.

I would listen to 10k and I totally agree with him on this matter; he is using wayyyyyyyyyyy to much nutrients. 2 or 3 times a week is NUTS man, most people feed weekly or every other watering..... he is pounding them with nutrients, way to often.

Just actually looked closely at the pics. I concur, it's not a calcium def.

Off the top of my head.... pH problem. All those nutes  Salt build-up maybe?

Even adjusting to very weak ferts isnt going to help the symptoms if its not draining off adequately between feedings.

imho, there is just no way in an 8 or 9 gallon planter, that the medium can have sufficient time to dry way down low in that big planter if its being hit 2 or 3 times a week. Root problems will come and nute def or tox like symptoms are always seen.

Overwatering is THE most common cause of plant problems

thanks for the input. im not going to water them with anything except water, and ill wait till the soil is dry.....thanks yall

You cant tell by sticking your finger in the dirt. It just does NOT work.

alot of water comes out of the pot...and ive stoped using nutes for a while. can i take them out of the pots? there is alot of perlite in there so i dont think there is a chance of rot. i think they are getting better, when the soil is dry should i flush them? 8 gal pot= how much water should i flush thru them? should i use any cha ching?

It's going to be hard to properly flush since you are using such a big pot.... you are kinda in a lose lose situation, because when you flush your plants and fix the burn problem; you now created a new problem.... over watering; because unless the root mass has rooted 75% of the pot, you would not have any issues. But I doubt it has rooted that pot..... so now water is going to be sitting in the lower pot keeping the rest of the soil too moist even after the plant has absorbed the water it wants.

You have a hard time coming your way...... remember it's always better to underfeed than overfeed.

im going to drill some holes in the bottom of the pot, i find when you put the pot on an angle more water comes out. this sucks cause they look really good... the bottom leaves are turning light green...

a well drained pot will never kill a plant.
No matter how much water you pour. Much like the rain. It can rain for days but plants can take it.

It's the drainage people.

Hell you can water your plants everyday if you like. In fact, this is my way of sending oxygen down the roots. You can even listen water poping as air is sucked down.

We are not talking about a well drained plant, we are talking about him flushing an 8 gallon size pot with a mid size plant in it! Not to mention he just said he is drilling holes in the bottom...... still he will have to have a ton of drainage, to properly flush an 8 gallon pot will have a ton of left over water if the plant has not rooted most of it. Even if you have proper drainage... you will still exhibit overwatering. I never said anything about it killing the plant either.

I am not trying to b e rude, rude is the last thing I want to come off as... BUT
I think this is the most messed up and the funniest post I have ever seen in my entire life of being on these boards.......

In fact, it's your way of killing your plants.... watering everyday is nuts. If you have to water everyday and your plants are alive get that damn plant into a new pot!
