This is my first post on these forums so let me first start by saying Hi. If you would help me diagnose my plants that would be great.

- This is my Kodiak Gold X SSH @ about 2.5 weeks veg
- There in ProMix BX with perlite added 5.5"X5.5" square pots
-Under a 4' 8 tube T5
- Im using Fox Farm Grow Big and Big Bloom at 1/4 dose on recommended feed schedule. They only get fed every other watering.
-The water being used is from Spring water jugs brought in the grocery store or tap water that was run through a water filter like a Brita filter.

Rust spots started small on lower leaves 1 week ago growing all over the leaf

I uploaded my pics but it won't let me post the URL in this thread for some reason?

Hi tomvh858

I grow in organic soil, and that is one of the first things I watch out for after transplanting. When I get so called rust spots on my plants it will start on the lower leaves and slowly work its way up the plant.

I beleive it has something to do with calcium deficiancy, and I give the plants a dolomite lime feeding and it will stop almost immediately. Within a day or 2 no more rust spots and it seems to have stopped completely. I watch after every transplant for the signs, and it seems to work every time,

I don't have any dolomite on hand, and I won't be able to go to the hydro store till Monday. I do have fox farm tiger bloom which has calcium nitrate in it. Should I use this or wait till Monday?

Hi tomvh858

I would wait until Monday. Most nurseries will have Dolomite Lime, but sometimes it's in pellet form. I will grind the pellets into dust with a coffee bean grinder, and add 2 tbls powder to a gallon of water, shake well and feed up to 1/2 gallon per plant depending on pot size.

hey bro dont know where you are but i picked up a bag of lime rite dolomitic pellitized lime 40 lbs for like 4 bucks at true value hardware and used a coffee grinder

Pro-Mix has 2, yes two limes in one, I've never needed to add any extra lime even when reusing it twice. Don't use a brita filter. They also look over watered, wait until they dry out before watering. The spring water could be tap water as that's all I ever use is tap water. I also feed every watering with PM at least 10-25%
