Round 2 1200 watts!

So after my first indoor attempt im going for round 2! This time around i will be using

4'9x4'9x6'7 GrowLab tent

2 600 watt Yield Master 6” air cooled Hoods with galaxy ballasts and
plantmax hps bulbs

6 inch windtunnel inline fan to cool the lights

can fan filter with 6 inch fan

11 3 gallon pots and 7 5 gallon pots all with FFOF Soil

Cornucopia Plus Plant Energy, Grow, Bloom, and X2 Nutrients

Co2 Boost Bucket and pump

I am running mostly Super Lemon Haze again and a few really dank indicas that were acquired through family

Since my first grow i stumbled upon a few issues and am ready to adjust accordingly... Instead of just letting them go im trying the LST teqnique because i noticed i had alot of larf from the lower branches on my last grow werent getting enough light, hopefully it will increase my yield some since i only harvested about 10 ounces off 9 plant last run.

Id really like to get to where im harvesting a gram per watt but we will see! I would also appreciate any input or advice along the way since im still very new and am reading lots on this site daily!! Ill try and post up some pics later on today, LETS DO THIS! :)

Heres a couple pics from last week, i tied down the babys the best i could and they are starteing to grow back up again the canopy looks decent but im wondering is there a certain amount of time before i tie them down again or just tie them once and let them go?

Mind if I pull up a chair and spark one up? :watchplant::smoker:

Looks like we got a similar set up but I only got one 600.
I got 9 SLH just sprout'n, bout' 1.5-2 inches, in FF OF.
Mind if I ask,
have you run SLH before? In Fox Farm OF? With their ferts? How old are are your girls? Seeds or cuttings? Have you topped them before or should I just LST them?
Aaaa..... oops, my bad. I'm done. :)

Anyway, Good luck and hope ya get a killer garden.
Peace.

Exploziv, thanks for stoppin in! Appreciate the company! :)

FarmerStealth, I ran that setup last time with 1 600 and yes i ran the SLH IN 9 3 gallons as well, here is a link to it... https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=221828

last go was my first attempt and was more of a learning experience than anything. I ended up yielding about 11 ounces on the 9 plants.
Ran into issues towards the end that i think really minimized my yield, about week 7 or 8 i started noticing vegetative growth coming from my buds and upon further inspection figured out i must of hit the red timer/on button on the side of my timer which was giving the babys 24 hours of light again. This time ill make sure that doesnt happen and i can continue to try for the gram per watt id love to be able to see! :)
anyhow, i definitely recommend topping or tying down as my girls stretched LIKE CRAZY! at the end of my last grow they were almost 5 feet tall! this go round i vegged the 11 that are in 3 gallons for a month and the 7 in 5 gallon pots for 2 months really hoping for a LB this time anyways thanks for sticking around and any input is always appreciated!

budley, what do you recommend for height of lights? I usually keep them about 10-12 inches from the canopy. They are 600s and air cooled as well my temps at the base of my canopy is usually about 84, is this too high?

i run my 600s 18-24" in water cooled fresca sol jackets. they can be as close as I want but I still get better results at 18-24".

if they're digging it, I wouldn't change it, just monitor it. I started noticing better buds consistently from plants that were 20" from the light when I tried to keep it 12" over the tops. Plus your reflectors sweet spot is bigger when it has a chance to open up.

Yieldmaster reflectors with Plantmax lamps work very well. I've used the combo myself with great results. Good luck with your grow.

on another note, i have been very busy the last few weeks with work and hate to say it but have been neglecting the babys some what. However since my last post i was able to do more tying down and trying to get my canopy as even as i could. they have been fed twice so far since they have been in flowering and i think i am going to give them just water the next time they start to dry up. But anyways just took a few pics about an hour ago and want to show you guys how they are coming along! Let me know what ya think :)

I had a question and thought instead of making a new thread just ask it in here... when i feed my plants its a very long task i have the 18 in buckets and i basically take a gallon jug, add water at nutrients then check ph add up or down and repeat....Is there an easier more efficient way to do this than 1 plant at a time?? Thanks for the help~!

if i understand what your asking; you are mixing 1 gallon worth of nutrients up at a time over and over again? been there done that.

i will explain how i do this:

go get yourself some sturdy 5 gallon buckets; an airpump and some stones. also get a 2 gallon watering jug.

i leave the 5 gallon buckets bubbling with water 24/7 always. i mix up my nutrients in 5 gallon batches; then i pour that mix into my watering jug as needed and go to town hand-watering my plants; i collect all the run-off in a different bucket and down the sink it goes.

if you dont use all 5 gallons of nutrient in one watering; just leave the air-stone in there and it will hold until you can use the rest of it that way you waste nothing.
its cheap, simple, and easy.

Thanks Macgyver for the advice, im definitely going to switch to that method. I usually mix up about 18 gallons total so im thinking of getting 4 5 gallon buckets. How many airstones per bucket? and what do you think the estimated cost of the pumps and airstones will cost me?

i think that most of the activeaqua air pumps will do; the 15L, four outlet version would let you run 4 separate air-stones; you will only need 1 stone per bucket.
i personally have a "pu45L" its more of a compressor style pump so its much louder than the aquarium style pumps, if noise is an issue i wouldnt reccomend this one. but it pumps out TONS of air and i can run up to 6 buckets from this one pump.
any old air stone will do! i like the thick roundish gray air-stones; they dont seem to fall apart as quickly as the thin ones.

for the pumps and all the air-stones your looking at maybe 50 bucks tops id imagine.

Hey guys! Been pretty busy with work lately and just wanted to post some updated pics..well actually these were taken last week but updated nonetheless... a few things, ive been having a real issue with bugs again :( no matter how hard i try i cant seem to get rid of them...i have been reading up on bug prevention and still dont know the best route to take. Is there something that works for any flying insects or no? Id like to get rid of them once in for all soo if anyone has any suggestions id really appreciate it! The other is i let a couple get too dry and they were wilted right down :( too much work not enough garden time is the prob there but since these pics were taken they are perked up and look much better now. anyways lets get to some pics :)

Hey everyone! Since my last post i pulled my 3 indicas and have a couple pics of some dried nugs as well as a shot or two of the Super Lemon Haze...They are looking great for the most part and smell delicious! I am a little bummed about my harvested weight off my 3 indicas i got about 90 grams so just over an ounce off each plant the smoke was great tasting and had the reallllly stinky danky smell you could want a few of my friends couldnt get over how strong the odor was. i pulled a 10 bag out and within a minute the whole room stunk up! well heres a couple pics enjoy! and if anyone could maybe give me tips on how i could possibly increase my yield per plant id appreciate it !

Longer veg period. or rooting period + veg, if from clone.

Get the bugs under control, if there small black and looks like a mosquito with no sucker there fungus gnats, Microbelift BMC is a product I've heard as being as effect as the Mosquito dunks which.. well in the Infirmary forum if you haven't checked that out.. the fungus gnat larvae eat root near the top of the soil and can' slow growth so worth getting them killed for good.

Raising the lights to encourage some stretch, bigger plants = bigger buds.

The buds look nice keep it rolling you'll be growing the amounts you want in no time

Cool thanks for the help Buju, im going to check out that microbelift BMC and give it a try. I am going to also try longer veg too as im sure that will help. One question though how high do you suggest putting the 600s above the canopy? I was doing about a foot to a foot and a half because i want to lose as many lumens as possible and i understand with distance goes lumens as well. Thanks for the compliments and suggestions though! :)
