Roots excelurator back our in silver edition and gold!

Hey wanted to provide you all an update as I've been looking for the best root mix for my babies while their vegging. I went ahead and called their customer service hotline for house and garden and they stated you can now order the old silver formula although my local hydro store doesn't carry it. I asked the gentleman the difference between the two and he stated they didn't remove any ingredients in the gold mix they actually added more. Does anyone know if the new silver is as good as the old silver edition? He advised me that for coco and soil your better off sticking to the gold edition because of the addition of the beneficials while in hydro going with the silver bottle. Does anyone have any extra information? Thanks boys

Really. Hmm not a single store in my area caries it yet and I'm in a big metro area. The rep on the phone made it seem like good was better and just had a much higher count of microbes and such wheras silver had same just less and would be more productive in hydro and coco better for gold editon

Hey..I know this is not relevant to this thread...but please checkout RHIZOBLAST from Botanicare. I have been having great results with it..and I am coming from using RE for many years. I still use many H&G nutrients..but I believe RHIZOBLAST is an acceptable alternative..and a bit cheaper.

thats funny man. They arent asking about botanicare or cannas root booster. I use cannas stuff but I havent chosen a root booster yet, though the h&g roots excell is kn my list. This thread is very helpful I didnt know theres actually 2 different roots excellerators...

fyi they just re-released the silver kind. its suppose to be for hydro and gold is supposedly for coco/peat/other similar mediums. reason why is silver edition is less prone to frothing up in recirculating water conditions.

just to give you an update- i have been running the gold and noticed that my gallon containers that i use to premix my nutrient solutions in (the ones ive been adding in roots excelurator) have been smelling very foul and collecting gunk at the bottom.

Too bad I don't think the bottles have a DOM on them.

I just threw my bottle out and came on the internet to see what people are saying about the product now (two year after I bought it). I threw mine out because it now is gunky and has a foul, almost like rotting hay smell going on.

When I originally got the bottle, I refrigerated it after opening and it never smelled like that. Over summer the grow fridge broke and it took a while to get another, so I suspect it went bad in heat / went past its shelf life.

Might have been what was going on with yours.

The gold bottles smell. I have since switched root stim and have not noticed a hude difference really.

Has anyone grabbed the new silver bottles ? If so, is it a thin black liquid like the original silver bottles or is it a thick brown liquid like the gold bottles? Im curious if they just went back to the original bottle to gain more sales.

they had to remove the active ingredient/s which made excel as good as it was. I doubt they will ever have one even close to the old one

I've been using gh's rapid start, it's better and cheaper than the gold bottle. I've yet to find a product as good as the original RE....thinking of trying b'cuzz roots

I also like rapid start. I did try using techno flora thrive alive this time, and I think I like it better. Alot better thrive alive makes killer clone feed and seedling feed. All around killer shit

I have used the Rapidstart a couple of years and it might just be me but I feel like it's not quite as effective as it used to be, either.
I get a lot better results if I use EWC tea or Superthrive in addition.
The thrive alive is my next purchase if I ever finish the bottle of st. It's like 7 years old now lol

I used to be a firm believer of Roots Excelulator until they changed their formula. I ran the gold can and noticed no difference in my root zone. I recently bought a liter of the silver can because I thought it might make a difference, negative. Same results.. On another note, I have been using Foundation by Greenstone Nutrients once every 3 waterings, combined with OGBiowar Root and Foliar tea once every 10 days. Huge difference in root zones, healthiness, and plant vigor!

never tried silver and didn't like the gold. I am not a fan of RhizoBlast but canna Rhizotonic is the best shit and works better than anything I've ever tried
