Root initials on stem ?

Like on tomato plants 3 of my plants have root initials some are 3cm long roots coming off all the way up the stem and branches underneath

I’ve never seen this ? Could I possibly add more soil and she root ?

Don't add any soil and cover them they are not that kind of root.
