well in my current situation i haven't been able to smoke any herb for a while now. i gotta smoke something and i really dont like any kind of pack cigarettes so i went on down to this local tobacco shop that is family owned and opperated. Wonderful people in there, extremely friendly.

Anyways, i picked up 2 ounces of Danish Shag [Shake] for 4 dollars i know rolling your own cigs is popular in europe but not too many people do it in the states. any of you guys enjoy rolling your own cigs?

While this is nice, i only wish it was filled with some skunk

my dad rolls his own cigs. I don't smoke anymore so I don't roll cigs. I used to roll cigs but it was some nasty tabacoo, someone just gave me a big bag of tabacco for free.

I like mixing tabacco with a little weed though, it can be nice.

here in holland where im from it's very common to roll your own cigarettes.

you can buy these types of plastic bags wich contain 50grams of what we call "shag" wich is actually just schredded and slightly moistened tobacco. I started smoking shag since it's more than twice as cheap as cigarettes. And It's actually healthier because they don't use as much additives as in cigarettes, although you do get more tar because you dont have a filter.

It's also common practice here to roll your joints with tobacco and many people includin myself use shag for this. Because it's not so dry and stiff like cigarette's it is easier to roll and very nice to smoke.

I guess us dutch people have some strange habbits when it comes to smoking, herb or tobacco

I used to roll my own. It's kinda funny though here in the states because everyone thinks you're pulling out a joint. And rolling papers can be used against you in court, that's bullshit.

Plus you sometimes can't even sit there and enjoy your cigarette because some nosey prick is sitting there asking you question after question about your damn cigarette. lol

yeah i roll my own mate, drum, dutch blend, i used to smoke ready rolled but while working on the fishing boats i switched to rolling my own, at the time because ready rolled dont take a lot of punishment when your punching into waves, where as your rollies do, after that when i started work ashore again i never went back to packs, it is cheaper but thats not really an issue, hey if its good enough for travolta in pulp fiction its good enough for me lol....................stay lucky

rolling papers count as paraphernalia unless you have tobacco with you.

nice to hear this from a dutchman. i must say this danish shag is real good. i went to a party the other night and bummed a cig off someone because i had smoked all of mine already. parliment. tasted like shit, im pretty sure i took like 2 drags off it and chucked it.

yeah I have the same feeling after having rolled my own for a long time. Cigarettes just taste weird, im sure the tobacco companies add stuf to make it more appealing to the younger kids.

And the whole problem of people mistaking it for a jay is non existent here because people don't care if it's a jay or not. Being Dutch it's very hard to understand the paranoia surrounding cannabis in the US. Ive never ever seen anyone do anything they didn't want on weed and im pretty sure the world would be a better place if we have the legal right to choose our state of mind.

while we are talking about tobacco, few weeks ago i was sitting next to a funky funky looking chick and asked her for a cig, she pulled out a pack of Dunhil... i took one and smoked it, it wasnt regular cig, it was something interesting, some kind of funky minty flavour but not mentol. I think the pack was white in color and it was called... dunhil LACE or ACE os some shit i cant remember!! When i went to the shop, no ones got any of these cigs!!! What was that?

Yeah, so commercial cigarettes do suck when you've been rolling your own for awhile. Not only is the tobacco drier, it also has a lot of additives. If you look on wikipedia, there are about 599 additives to cigarettes that have been approved, granted each company doesn't use all of them. Cigarettes are bad enough as it is, why add extra crap? The other thing: 50% of a commercial cigarette is shake swept from the factory floor and old cigarettes returned by vendors that are ground up and reused.

Anyways, the reason I'm posting. Some mentioned that it can be tough smoking hand rolled when you are out and about since they look like joints. I use a slider and tubes. You can quickly make your own cigarettes out of quality tobacco that is packed sufficiently, and has a filter if you so desire.



I usually pack enough of these every morning to get me through the day. I always have great, fresh cigs! If you want an inconspicuous spliff, you can even add some bud, kif, or hash in and no one will know the difference.
