Risk of apartment/rental growing WITH med. card?

Can you be evicted for growing even if you are within your limits? Would they just say it's a fire hazard?

Just wondering in the event that my landlord ever discovered the grow. Nothing big, just a cab or tent as stealth as possible with a 600w in it.

Anyone have personal experience on this? I looked around and saw a lot on growing in apts., but nothing about it if you're a med patient.

Which med state? I'd think it would be a local government call lkie state county or town level.

CA, thanks for the input. I hadn't even thought of that... if it came down to it, I'd probably have to take it to court, which would draw a lot of unwanted attention :bashhead:

Very interesting question. I have my card and so does my roommate. In that circumstance I think it is ok for us. Same in your situation. Just follow the local jurisdiction's limits (ie. 6 mature plants, 6 small immature plants or something like that). CA, we are speaking of. :) LA isn't too bad, if i'm not mistaken. Humboldt is like 24-30 plants.

I have read that some Landlords are not agreeable with it due to it still being a federal crime. I guess read your lease and some where I am sure it says you can not perform any illegal activities in the apartment The LL claim would be its a federal crime.

Keep a low profile and if they find out, explain it.

Most leases have a clause saying you cannot break any laws, and if govt can prove LL knew they can potentialy seize property, so i would take normal precautions and just pretend it is still full blown llegal and unwanted. You could look for a friednly LL but that would require outing yourself to strangers and we all know how well that works.

Just ask your property manager their opinion on the matter; call in to their office anonymously if you wish. Personally, I told my property manager about my grow before I moved into my rental, and they were fine with it as long as I kept my plant numbers under the legal limit.

oops, forgot all about this thread. thanks for the responses everyone

i think i'll just keep to myself about it and stay within my limits. if the landlord did find it, which is highly unlikely, hopefully the local pd won't do anything about it and i'll have time to clean things up in case they decide to phone their fed buddies.

larestance.
that SEVERLY depends on the landlord, current conditions, and any changes that might arise during your grow. one day you might come home and see a notice for fire alarm inspections or find one of your neighbors had crashed through the wall in the garage and you now have an SUV in your living room (i had that 5 months ago.) ironicly some of the larger corporatly own places are good to pull of small grows in, as they try and stick to tenant laws via there legal dept. so you always get mailers a week + ahead of time and they (atleast mine) called to tell me a car was in my house BEFORE they went in......my experiance with 4plexes owned by individuals is the veriety of personality types. i had one landlord who enjoyed walking the property daily, cleaning the gutters by hand, and washing the pavment down. nice mind you, but it was a bitch for me to sneek in anything. he also seamed to have no problems going into my house while i was at work, without permission, got him on video, took him to small claims for a months of free rent (1500)won, with video footage.other landlords such as my boss who own 4 plexes and 9 plexes is that hes busy, and wont do anything unless you ask him to. hell do it when you say its cool, and not when its good for him.
you have to try and feel the person, or place and know whats ok and not. its almost like a 6th sence. grow-o-vision.....hard to master, like the force.
but in a c-24 you might be able to pull it off.

my best tip if to grow on the 6pm-9am or 8pm-8am so that if they do have to say, fix a toilet, or repair a plug, wall, pipe, cieling the room will be quiet with fans off etc.

also thoes times are cooler making growing easier/more effective, and a added bonus is its cheaper and more environmently friendly, ad 4-6pm is peak time, usualy fuiled by coal, whereas night power is effeciant nuclear/hydro/geothermal
