Dude, let me be the first to say that I am truly sorry. My heart genuinely saddened the moment that I saw this thread was about a dog and not a plant. My dog is my best friend too. Hope your life/schedule permits you to get another once you've finished grieving. In the meantime, crying will probably be the only thing that makes you feel better. I'm sure he/she was a great dog, make it a memorial or something of tribute to commemorate his/her life. Was it a boy or girl, what was its name? When/where/how'd you get it? 15 is a good life for a dog. How'd it happen?

His name was Harley, border collie. He got to the point where arthritis made it almost impossible for him to walk, had to put him down this morning.

BD40, I know your pain, bro, more than you know. Just looking at that pic with "RIP" made me shed a tear. I've said before, I don't just love dogs, I'm IN LOVE with them. The pain you suffer upon losing man's best friend, especially one who's been with you for 15 years is, in my opinion, unbearable. I honestly wish now I hadn't run across this thread. I'm crying for you now, BD, as if Harley was mine. Stay strong.

Wow, thanks everyone.....good to feel the positive vibes.

Its the only bad thing about having animals, they don't stay long.

i agree man i look my pets in my eyes and easily start crying just thinking about the fact over half their lives are possibly gone, and mistakes ive done, things i never made up with past pets...

Sorry to hear - my eyes stung for a second remembering that pain...

Remember them, cherish that memory, and when you are ready, share that love again with another dog. They are all different, but the love they can give and receive is the same...
