im 23 years old...my cat died today and i've had him since 2003. He was a lurker of the neighborhood and loved jumping on my keyboard when i'd be on the computer. he knew i loved him dearly and he did me. no more pets i cant take it again and again

Grow Clean.... Go Fast!
Having the enjoyment of the pet or any loved one is far greater than acknowledging the loss. We are just not good at accepting death. But the life was great when you remember it. Go to your local pound and rescue another needy cat please! You will be happy!

I've had a ton of pets in my 59 years and I can tell you without a doubt that getting a new pet is THE best medicine.

In a definite way you're honoring Tubby's memory.

That's my read anyway.

I feel for you. I have a couple of cats that are getting old, and I will be very sad when they die. But I am really thankful that I have so many great memories with them.

I recently had to put my dog to sleep. I had her for ten years since she was 8 weeks old. I was torn to pieces.

Thought I would never get a pet again....WRONG! I rescued a dog and could not be happier!!

Rescuing makes you feel great and a good way to get over a loss!

Make sure of one thing....DO NOT TRY AND REPLACE your lost cat rather start a new journey with another great friend!

All things mend in do time!

sorry for your loss KD and nothing it seems hurts more than
losing a pet, they depend on us for everything but we can't
give them what we want them to have the most extra time.

I know I'll be devastated when I lose my next dog but life
just isn't the same without some of that fuzzy love.......

i'm so sorry for your loss

i had a cat that recently died - i had her for 14 years

i still can't talk / type about it without crying

i'd like to get a new pet but i just can't bring myself to do it

it seems like i'm cheating her by replacing her so fast

well, it's not like i can replace her... i just miss her so much

she comes to me in my dreams ~ awww, crap... i gotta stop typing about this *tears*

so, yes, i completely can associate with your pain / loss

*love*
