RING Doorbell

I bought it because the picture is so clear it impressive. All looks good in their propaganda but once app is downloaded and device put in place I noticed these couple things. I takes 30-45 seconds from the time the doorbell is rung till I get the notification on my smart phone and the person at the door is already gone. the fedex guy was driving down the street before I go notified he was there today. It could be me... are there any experts here that can come up with a solution for a quicker response.
Am I missing the special 'piece'?

unless I know exactly who's @ my front door (solid steel door no windows in it) I answer the door with my 12 gauge, which fits nicely in my walker (I'm mostly crippled).


crack cocaine, meth & heroin (a heroin bust in Bemidji this week) rounds out what the idiots up here are putting in theirs bodies, they can add a load of buckshot to those party favors if they come around looking to rip me off.



Remember:
when seconds count, the cops are only minutes away.


I live rather deep in the country, the sheriff's response time to my place is somewhere between 30-45 minutes, most of the time the deputy on patrol just calls me from their cell phone.
