...Do you want to throw your seeds in soil and under the lights immeaditly, or would you want to give them a few days in the dark to let thier heads pop outa the soil?

Edit: I sound like a nub, but I have grown before really, it's just been a while. Also, and im sure you've never heard this excuse before, but im high....

I like to use a light to get my seeds up out of the soil,if you dont put one on them you should immediately after popping up to avoid possible stretch

I had just put 10 WW germinated seeds into the soil at 10 PM. no light yet. Next day 5 PM got home to install the light. 8 of the 10 were 3" tall with the seed husk on their heads. I had to put a crutch on all of them to keep them upright. LIGHT ON WHEN THEY HIT THE SOIL........

And yes I have fed them since the pic.......

I keep them wet by misting them with a water bottle

Its a lot easier to just put a light on them from the start to avoid stretch

^yes that's true, if they don't receive (direct) light immediately after sprouting; they WILL stretch and have longer stems and thus more stem between soil and bottom branch (wasted height), more risk on falling over, etc etc

how long after they've popped do you usually keep them under a indirect hps/fluorescent light before you put them under the high lumen output lights?

sometimes I leave them in a damp cloth until they completely pop into sprouts. Then I will seal them in a plastic bag and 1 week into the crisper in the fridge. This seems to make them hardier plants.

I had my seeds germinating for about 42 hours, two of the four had shown the taproot. I filled up 4 cups with my soil mix, watered til it until water came out of the bottom, and then let it sit for 15 minutes. I pushed a little hole in the soil with a pencil, dropped the seeds in, and covered them up, and set them under fluorescents. A few days later, and they're looking great.

Fatty Arbuckle I keep my seedlings 1/2 inch under flo tubes for the first 10 days-2weeks.You will have a little 4 inch bush with 15-20 leaves, this is when I put them under the HIDs
