RFK Skunk

Are there any potheads here who had any experience with the long lost strain known as RFK Skunk? I wasn't involved in growing it, but I was lucky enough to score an ounce of bud on two separate occasions and a bag of trim another time and I can say that the stuff was undoubtedly the loudest and strongest that I met during the 20th century, so I'd like to learn more about it if possible, thus this thread. I also was not one of the crew who was selling it at the Dead show, I sold a few bags to friends who were also probably not the ones selling it at RFK. Theres a lot of stuff around now of similar potency but I still haven't met anything equally loud, so I'm guessing that RFK was a clone kept by the grower rather than a seed strain, but I'd rather combine notes with others who might know a thing or two, than make guesses. I also presume, without any direct knowledge, that the stuff I bought in the spring of 1990 was produced indoors. If anyone would like to take a step back and try to help me remember what happened 1/3 of a century ago, I'd be grateful to hear from them.

It's very famous from the Chem/Sour story. Potential grandparent to Sour. But never seen any grows or anything let alone grew or had any myself.

A couple of older threads..

Thanks goingrey & Mtn. Nectar, I looked in a few of search engines before posting this thread and didn't see too much info available or much serious discussion on the topic, nothing like the history of Chem which has come out. I figured if I started up an RFK Skunk specific thread maybe someday some info would miraculously show up for me. I was also hoping a few years back that the Blue Skies Vienna affair would end up filling out some details for me too, but that didn't happen yet. Vienna, Virginia is roughly the location of the source of some of the RFK bud, so I initially figured maybe it was some of the same crew, but later on I started having my doubts.

Yep, I didn't see any mention of RFK from BSV, but I was still giving them some credit due to the Vienna name. Probably wishful thinking on my part, RKS being a catchall term for an odor rather than a particular genetic no doubt help add to my confusion and delusion on that one. DNL crosses seem like they might be the closest known living relation of RFK.
