Hello IC community,
I stand before you on the day after i was hit by a tidal wave of Rezdog's Sour Diesel floral clusters. This was one of the best Cannabis smoking experiences i have ever had....
A perfectly dried nugget of fresh sour diesel (not cured very long) was ground up into tiny bits with a quality aluminum grinder. I inspected the pile which was set upon a white piece of paper. The crystals were quite large and the pile of shredded herb looked more like a pile of dry-sieved kief rather than chopped up buds! I inhaled through my nose so i could evaluate the perfumes rising from the pile. I have a very good sense of smell and I could detect odors of eucalyptus and a kind of lemon menthol. I was expecting a sharp, pungent, overwhelming petroleum smell but i was pleasantly suprised at the delicate complexity of this cannabis boquet.
The ground dried floral clusters were then packed into a large, ornate "Chubbler," a chillum which can be filled with water for a kind of waterpipe + chillum combination. No water was added so i could get a sense of how the pure herbal inhalation would affect my throat. As I consumed a monster hit, i felt a large expansion in my lungs as the pleasant taste of complex citrus flavors wrapped itself around my tongue and throat. I am not a regular smoker so i could not help but cough a series of deep, expectorating coughs which seemed to originate from deep within the diaphragm. I noticed that after my lungs immediately felt as if they could take in much more air than before. Definately a positive effect for those with lung problems who are seeking a strain with respiratory therapeutic characteristics.
A couple more hits from the chubbler and i quickly realized that i had bought the ticket so therefore i had to strap myself in and take the ride (Hunter S. Thompson Homage). I felt a surge of THC energy from within my mind and I could only think...."This strain is no joke!" The high was soaring and would not stop. The sensation was very "clean" and i remarked that this would be a good medicinal strain because it gives off such a resonating therapeutic energy. But at the same time, I could not ignore the quasi-psychedelic energy that was rising within the center of my being. Having had intensive bong-hit training and hallucinogenic experiences in my 20s, I immediately knew that the only thing to do would be to "go with it" and allow the THC to take me wherever it wanted to lead me.
My friend began talking about his friend who smokes joint after joint of this quality herb to the point where he thought he might throw up. Suddenly I realized that "oh no!! I might throw up!! This might be too intense!!" This feeling only lasted for a moment or two and when it was gone I found myself on a level of existence which I had never previously been exposed to. I felt energized and completely awake and active. I began to explore the house and seek out water for my parched throat. I remarked that it felt like i was "exploring a maze or a labyrinth of some kind." It seemed like i was living on a symbolic plane of existence where physical objects became doors and metaphors for another hidden world.
After i sat back down on the couch after the whole "exploring a maze" thing, the symbolic world subsided and i realized that i was incredibly high. Finally i had experienced the "clear cerebral effect" that all the sativa reports talk about. My body was numb and the pain in my lower back had completely disappeared. Others in the room laughed at me because i had so much energy and was obviously incredibly high. No big deal though. This was the second phase of the high where the medicinal effects kick in. I remarked that my body was numb and i felt no pain whatsoever and this strain would be very good for pain-management. I relaxed on the couch as no one had ever relaxed on a couch before. I shut my eyes for about 20 minutes and listened to the conversation in the room.
Slowly and gradually i began to engage in conversation. i enjoyed myself thoroughly. After about 100 minutes I realized that i was at a level where i was able to drive. So if you are an occasional smoker make sure you have a couple of hours to spare before you have to do anything. The drive home was very pleasant with no feelings of paranoia whatsoever. Sometimes i can get paranoid while driving but not at all in this case. I was smiling and directing classical music like a conductor and very calm and contemplative.
Once i got home the munchie phase kicked in. I ripped open the burrito i had purchased earlier and ate it with much pleasure and gusto. I turned on the tv and realized that i was still very very high. This sensation lasted for a couple of hours. All in all the whole experience lasted for around 6 hours and went through very distinct phases:
1) Exploring the Maze. Clear, energetic and a bit psychedelic.
2) Medicinal phase where pain subsides. Intense relaxation.
3) Pleasant euphoria. Positive vibes without a trace of Paranoia.
4) Munchie phase. Heightened Gustatory Sensations. Pleasant calm.
So there you have it.....I woke up the next day in a joyous mood and felt very good about the future and my present situation. I was thankful to be alive. I had no fiending for more, but I looked forward to having this experience again. I highly recommend this strain. What else is there to say?
Now I see why this strain is Strain of the Year 2005. If you are a beginner to Cannabis smoking, remember to hold on tight and rest assured that you are in good hands. Good for pain management and social activities. No paranoia. Good daytime weed if you want to explore nature or just enjoy life in general.
