Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody, 2014 Year of the NLD(sativa)
It's an AnnaC's Seeds hybrid. His forum is archived in the Seedbay private breeder's area. Man, I wish Buck was still around.
Montels' Pride
The base strain I used began with a Oaxacan landrace strain(mexican Sativa) that I have been growing since the late 80's. I took a female and crossed it to a male AK47. I stabilized it by breeding the seeds back to each other. I took those seeds and chose my best male & female from the grow and pollinated again. I repeated the process one more time to Soma's # 10 Lavender. From those seeds I picked a male and female and bred it to each other once more. It is one of the fastest growing sativa/indica that I have ever had the opportunity to work with.
Flowering Time = 59-65+ days.
Earlier I removed some of the lower branches and those that were partially shaded. Some wanted to know how these plants smoked. I can report that these two plants were very similar in taste to the cherry pheno of AK47 that I grew some years before.
The cross to the Haze hybrid greatly increased the vigour of these plants compared to the Malawi female parent. Still, the plants were bug magnets of sorts and very sensitive to nutes (as seen by the over-burnt leaves).
This was the only female worth growing from my pure Malawi seeds I started. I have more seeds but it is my last batch of pure seeds. I hope to cross any outstanding individuals to Haze hybrid males once I identify the phenos available in the batch.
I probably wouldn't do the reverse (male Malawi) as the Haze hybrids provide easily identifiable males that will produce good daughters. This strategy has worked well for me so far and was recommended in the industry (crossing landraces to Hazes) for quite some time now.
Most of the offspring of these unions seem to lean to the Malawi parent (smell and taste) while the Hazes seem to add potency and vigour.
Thats a really cool Hash Cobra. Hash isnt easy to work with. Its only plyable for a minute at a time. It has to be kept warm or it gets rock hard. That must of took a good minute to sculpt. Ive only seen 1 hash etching, but no sculptures. Nice work whoever did it.
Have always heard bout the cunning of the fox...and it was true. We had to cope with it this past weekend, when we hounded one til his haunt and guess what he had!
That ol´cabron knew what was collecting!
Thankx boyz. It was great see you all again!!
PS: a lot of sativas there, some of them special goodies from the man himself: Charlie_G
