revegging after first flowers

has anyone revegged after putting their plants into 12/12 letting them get a couple of flowers then.. taking the males out... keeping some of the females and putting the rest of the females back into 24/0 to reveg

Seems possible to me..since some of you reveg even after the buds have been harvested.

I have about a week to go with vegging with 20 plants then will put them under a 600 watt hps.. to decrease the amount of space in cramped spaces I was going to sex them, get rid of the males (except the diesel ibl, so I can get a few seeds), then put some of the females back under a t5 fluoros to reveg them and bring them into the hps as my flowering plants get near harvesting...

comments.. good or bad idea?

and another question.
If I go ahead and flower them can I get a couple of clones from each flowering plant that would stay under hps if they are only a couple of weeks into flower.
perhaps using the aero spray method versus bubbler or passive water or peat?

Sure why not. Yeah I would say this can't hurt them to much. Or you could try and do what I do. Outdoors I always wan't to know the sex before seeds are everywhere. So I take a piece of cloth or burlap bag, and put it over the end of one of the lower branches. Do this so that the lower branch recieves little or no light for a few days. On that one branch it should show its sex in a few days. That way you don't have to flower the whole plant.

instead of re-vegging, it would be less stessful for the plants, if you follow young giver's info, or you could take 1 test clone from each plant, and put the clone in a glass of plain tap water, and put in 12/12, and in a couple of days you should see the preflowers..

Many growers use this technique to determine sex. You should have no problems force flowering your plants, and then allowing them to return to the vegging stage under 24/0, once sex has been established.

Depending on the strain, it can take up to a couple of weeks to show preflowers under 12/12.

Yes you can clone flowering plants, and keep them under your HID lamps.

You don't want to put them too close to the lamps as you would a vegging plant.
Using less light for you fresh cuttings, will help it focus on root development instead of leaf growth.

good luck

ok... well, I went ahead and cloned 20 plants after they were 2 weeks into flower.
took 12 days to barely see any roots..(one or 2 or 3 sticking out of the stem) once I saw the roots however, I put them in soil and they exploded under a 4 fixture T-5.
So I am happy with my ezcloner. I now have an exact replica of my 14 plant grow with a few extra diesels... Might plant those in West Virginia in may and see how they grow.

i have a few plants that are 3 weeks into flower and are starting to show female now im putting them back into veg so i can get clones from the 4 best looking plants out of 20 plants.

peace

Boy there's some real crappy advice on this subject, kinda surprises me.No its not a good idea.its the absolute worst way to determine sex that I know of.It causes nothing but problems.Your clones will be full of pistils and will grow funky with single and 3 bladed leaves, the mother plant wont be in much better shape.Going from flower to veg is not a good idea man.Just take your clones before you go 12/12 and label them, then when you go 12/12 discard the male clones and seedplants.I've been down this road before,no reason to do the wrong thing when you can do it correctly. The negative aspects of doing what you propose are just too much when you can do it the right way

SKELETOR gives good advice

you want a mum in pristine condition
a stressed out mum out gives you stressed out clones

me <---- serious seeds bubblegum 10 months on 24/0, still no sign of sex
lots of healthy clones though

force flowering plants for sexing can be done i wouldnt most plants show sex 3-6 wks of age anyways. force flower a plant get it to show sex and then revert back to veg takes more time then to just let em mature naturally. preflowers show anywhere from the 5th node on up preflowers are a great indicator for sexn plants, you can spend the better part of 4-5 wks gettn the plant to fully revert back to veg stage. thus wasting the time it could have been growing my 2pence,

as for taking cuttings from a plant in flower i just did and never again will I :yoinks: them suckers took 4-5 wks to root, because the flowering hormones where present the cutting had to revert. 1 of my clones is thrown 3 prong leaves the rest are normal, and dont take large wood cuttings i have 7 in water for last 6-7 wks water is changed every other day. they dont have roots but finially they have bumps every where just waitn for roots to grow. these large wood cuttings tops from outside plants have growen lol just no roots as of yet.

as for lighting clones when thier rooting very little thats why my mom would place plant cuttings in a glass of water on kitchen window sill it faced northwest and had ambient light only no direct sunlight.
when theyve rooted you can place stronger light above them.

Good advice bro on taking the cuttings before 12/12 has started,IMO its the absolute most important thing about perpetual cloning, taking them after 12/12 even just a week or so will inevitably lead to problems
