So I have a question about res temps and recirculating rockwool. I'm losing a plant here and there to sudden wilting and death. Looks like over watering but happens with no prior warning. This is a new spot and the res temps are high... Low to mid 80's. There's no sign of pythium so far as I can tell...I cut open the stems of the dead plants and they look fine.
Most other plants feeding from same res are fine. I realize the warmer the water the more oxygen is needed but in rockwool (6" cubes) doesn't most of the oxygen to the roots come from the rockwool? This isn't hydro where the solution needs to be will aerated. And if it was an oxygen issue wouldn't they show problems before the sudden wilt? In past experiences with over watered plants it's been a slow death.
Anyways, I can fix the problem with res temps but just trying to understand it.
