Very nice mixture of both strains are apparent in your pictures. I too would like to know which way the smell goes.

Those photos are all of the same plant taken at various stages of development...the yellowing in a couple of the photos happened during the final flush. The buds smelled a lot like strawberries...not fresh strawberries, but a more creamy smell, similar to strawberry sorbet ice cream or a smoothie...it was very clear and pronounced....unmistakable. after the initial drying, the sour diesel aroma becomes more apparent. On the inhale its all strawberry, post-exhale you can notice the sour "base". Difficult to explain, but it has depth to its aroma...which fluctuates between high strawberry notes, and low sour diesel notes. smoke coats the inside of your mouth nicely, almost numbing.
The pics were taken between 7-9 weeks...finishing time was ~66 days. Topped it at 1'6", responded very well. This plant was an amazing grower. took off from the very start...large fan leaves, thick hollow stem, an inspiration to watch grow. Compared to the Sour Diesel, the StDiesel finished quicker, was a more vigorous plant, and yielded slightly more...longer buds although girth was equal between the two. About an ounce per gallon of soil.

hey man! thanks for answerin'... again... mucho props on the photos/grow me brutha..
just curious... maybe its just me.. but i just trimmed some of the lower buds off my straw diesel..
the smell towards the base of the buds makes me absolutley sick to my stomach... it burns my nose/eyes... its like nail polish remover! i swear to god... i have never smelled any other diesel genetics, but i'm guessing this attribute comes from the chemdog .. its an ubelievable sensation i'vre never experienced with buds before..
it literally burns me like some kind of chemical... makes my nose hot and my fingers still stink like this shit!
the lower buds while still on the plant... had a similarity to the hashberry i was growin... a "sweet" smell but only on these lower buds... the massive bud on top smells like skunk and spicey too.. once you touch them though, it releases that sour-chemical odor... but not nearly as bad as when its cut..
but im sure when i chop it.... it will reek like a mofo
i am throughouly impressed with this strain... now i see why it was so hyped, the smell is unreal...
