res chiller for flood table?

Hey everyone, I started a flood table hydro setup and had a question on res temps. Currently i have my res in the room because that is the coldest spot in the house though I only get my res to 75-78f. That is not ideal. I have been using h202 to increase air capacity and have air pump constantly on.

I am using 6x6 cubes that hold alot of water. So far as seedlings I am only feeding 2 times a day. So the water that they are using is in the cube for the majority of the time.

Will this setup be ok vs catastrophic or do you think I should invest in a chiller?

Thanks!

You need a chiller. You want your water at 68. However you can just make giant ice packs with vac seal bags and drop them in the res before flood everyday. You dont want to have to rely on peroxide. Get a chiller.

I think you should be fine. Are you seeing issues? You could always just change mediums if you are worried. I don't think that your res temps are going to give you issues in flood and drain. Other forms of hydro absolutely...like DWC where roots are sitting in the water.

Thanks guys I appreciate the input! ThePizzaMan thats funny you asked if im seeing issues. I started a thread about a possible issue and you can see the setup from it as well:

I covered everything with poly to prevent algae and now the inside is super humid. Should that be a concern?

Also, would a 1/10 waterchiller put out a lot of heat?

Thanks again!
