In 'My IC' the foremost info given, relates to my reputation. So, in column 1 of this chart, it's a grey or green mark.

What does that mean?

In the rest is logical, until the final column. Sometimes it's auto-filled as 'helpful answer positive rating' while others it's little note from the sender. Other times, it's just blank? Non of which seems to relate to the grey or green mark.

While I'm not here to pick up points, It's nice to get a little feedback, so what can I learn from the coloured key?

blank wioth the scale icon if you do not write

Oh I see. The colour tells me how many posts the person giving the reputation has.

Thank you.

If I get an empty comments box, is that when people use the 'scales' button but don't leave a comment?

also forgot to mention the scale is possible to use red dots, if you dislike the comment don t hesitate to give out reds

turning it off just shows a black dot on profile it has nothing to do with the reputation points, and status it works in the background.

Edit: Whiped to the reply. Unsurprising. The speed my finger moves :)

I can still give reputation points, and receive them. It's just not displayed below my post count.

I like the feedback, but don't feel displaying it is useful. It just fuels the buddy club. I want my contribution here to be judged on technical merit. Peer review by people who put up quality information has a high value for me. Who tells the best jokes can have the same 5green 6amber as you, WhipedMeat and myself no doubt have. Or who makes the most posts. Has the most friends. For these reasons, I don't look at the reputation a user has.

If someone makes a great post, joined 10 years ago and rarely says much. That I'm interested in.

I never give 'Red'/Negative reputation - if a post has absolutely no merit - and is just about attacking some other member over some sort of personal business - scandal - drama - then I will just banish it to The Recycle Bin (a forum for use by site caretakers) - and often the member that posted such tripe will follow - unless they quit such postings -

Usually the guys with high rep - are the good guys - they have spent enough time and effort on these forums - and posted content that others like - so are duly rewarded -
