rental house....converting bedroom in to flowering room

Hey doods

I need some ideas on converting a bedroom in to flowering room. All of you guys who rent...and set up whole bedrooms...can you give me an idea on what your setup is...

My plan is to have a perpetual....I would like to run 4k but only have 2 on at one time. Should I just split the room in half with wood and panda film? I would like to know how you guys handle the windows and ventilation..AC in a bedroom. I would like to go hydro...ebb and flood...but not against coco in 5-7 gallon buckets.

I may be getting out of my apartment soon...and would like to get a jump on some of the things that I may encounter. I grow in tents now...but I am sick of tents.

Thanks

tents are good for that environment. cool the room and pull the cool air through the tents. keep the smell under control and respect the neighbors

I would quit being a pussy and put an ac in the window and hang your 4k in light. Seal it up. Run everything at night when nobody is around. Done. Costs a bit to set up, but its worth it.

Otherwise where are you gonna vent in your rental? I've cut holes in a rental... ha ha... :D Don't be scurred.

I would also say in a rental run 4x8 tents, 2kw each, flip flop, ebb and flow trays, sog, etc.

You can scrub your room, run central ac if you can stand it cold in other rooms, vent through lights, co2 in the tents on timers, or run a portable ac in there to drop your temps.

Don't have to vent, just seal it and scrub it and run gas.

Aside from wood and panda film being a hurdle to bring in and set up, it doesn't lend to a quick break down. With the tents you can be broken down in around 2 hours if crop salvage isn't an issue.

i know what youre saying about not liking tents but here's whats happened at my old spot. it was in a building with several units all connected and they had the fiberboard tiles for the ceilings with the recessed shop lights built in. i had several filters. fans, ona and the room itself barely smelled but the smelly air was making it through the porous ceiling tiles and migrating throughout the building. landlord started getting complaints about smell. luckily i had a solid alibi in which one of the units had a dried up toilet which was letting some funk up through the sewer lines. i immediately grabbed a few ozone generators and put them on timers in the attic space and problem solved. only fresh smelling attics for everyone now! it was a close call. chemmy jones funk is amazing to behold but it is a scary powerful thing. respect the funk and take proper precautions lol. im legal but i still dont wanna get robbed or go through the hassle of being grilled by the fuzz

what size is the room?...

I just recently srcapped a 2x4 framed panda room in favor of twin 6'4" cubed tents running flipped and could kick myself in the ass for not doing this in the first place.

Hey guys

Thanks for the replies. I do not have the place yet...but just wanted to get a feel for what other people were doing in rental houses. I guess I am stuck with tents...not like its so bad...I guess I will have to wait till I own a house to do it properly.

Either way....I would still like there to be a thread about rental properties...setups...and ideas for people who are doing just that.

Cheers

what is the deal with running co2 and flipflops? are you stuck buying 2 setups or how does one deal with that?

good question ceosam!

I have one....

What would be the most efficient way of cooling my tents. A portable unit in the tent(which may be impossible if running flood trays)....

I know that passive intake...just on my 1000w is not enough to cool it "properly"....An intake fan sitting in the room(that is airconditioned) pumping in to the tents?

What would be the most efficient set up with two 4x8 tents sitting next to eachother in an airconditioned room?

Any suggestions? 8" hoods....what size fan per each string of 2000w?

Thanks

8" hoods & exhaust fans for 2K watts of light in each tent .exhausting the air from the top & through the lights to out of the tent . preferably out of the room itself . i put vents in the window on both sides of the window AC . 1 on each side .
6" intake fan with a y pipe & push cold air from near the window AC into both tents at the bottom . make sure you still have negative pressure ... meaning make sure the intake is not over powering the exhaust . you want the air in the tents to recirculate every 2 minutes .easiest way to tell is you want your tent walls to suck in a little bit .... not alot , just a little .

My advice to you is that if you're going to do it then do it. Forget about just one bedroom. Think of the whole house as fit for growing. If there's a garage make that your veg and dry room. Flip all the bedrooms into flower rooms. Use the bathroom as a lung room if necessary. Sleep in the living room.

That is assuming you'd like to do more than break even. With the price of electricity and rent these days, you need at least 8-10 lights.

Get a big tent and fill it with lights. Have a smaller tent for seeds, clones, and vegging plants. Make sure you've got the environment dialed in and you're ready to go. If you decide to move later on you can take it down and bring it with you.

:yeahthats
yhea that's exactly what i did for years.
tarps on the floor, multi layers to protect carpet/hardwoods, 4-6 lights hung on toggle bolts in ceiling drywall, mylar/orca wrapping the walls, 1-2 window units running on thermostats, pushed my exaust up into the attic or out of the room thru a filter, so stinkiness is mitigated a lil bit.

tents are cool, i do own a couple now, would be nice to have a perpetual between tents in one room, but blowing out a bedroom with 4 lights is truly a thing of beauty.

I can't say for sure, but I would like to know as well. have run 3k in flower in a fairly small house with no problems despite it being a dramatic increase from the previously almost non-existent electric bill, but wondering if I can expand to 4 or 6 or 8 or not. What is a flip or a flop or whatever you call it? anyway, I would guess if you are just growing and not living in the rental house, at least 4 and maybe 6 or more lamps would not arouse suspicion. regardless good luck!

with a rental ...everything needs to be mobile and quick...
quick set up...quick breakdown...easy relocate...every-time there is a issue or landlord challenge U will want to make sure U'r ass is covered....so quick diss-assembly is key....
tents are a bitch to setup and break down.....
