Removing lower nodes born from hatred of popcorn

Thats what I used to believe anyway,I dont particularly like trimming popcorn but thought there was no way removing nodes would actually result in an increase in yield,I was totally incorrect.I'm to hardheaded sometimes, the idea just never really made sense,"growth gets concentrated towards the upper part of the plant" phooey thought I.More likely a bunch of people that dont want to trim popcorn, and understandably so but an increase in yield?Well I can say now with no reservations that the main cola and upper buds of the trimmed plants are visably quite larger than the plants I left untrimmed. So much for hardheadedness

Not to mention hours saved from not having to trim that shit. As a tree grower, I trim all lower nodes on the bottom foot of the plant. After the third or fourth week of flower, I trim small inner branches and new growth that will not get full light, as well as late developing branches that will not have time to develop. Not sure if I am doing the right thing, but my arthritic old hands hate to trim that small shit.

I prune all the lower branches that are going to produce nothing. It helps the rest of the plant, in my opinion, and keeps things a lot cleaner and makes watering much easier. If the lower branch doesnt appear it is going to grow half the height of the plant, it is gone......

Just toss the popcorn buds leaf and all into the hash bag, no trimming needed :yummy:

Why bother?

Why bother?

Patient, but greedy, old Granny that I am, I do things a bit differently. I harvest the tops of my plants first and let the little popcorns FINALLY get some light. No, they don't get as big as the main buds, but they do get bigger. I harvest them a few weeks later. -Granny :joint:

That just shows the variety of growstyles granny what a great fun thing lol.Unfortunately as soon as I remove a plant from the flower room its taken up by one that by all rights should have been there a week earlier, even 15/9 cant slow these veggin plants down and though I've vegged at 14/10,I'm afraid some pheno's just wont like it lol

i just train my plants sideways, all branching grows vertical from a horizontal stem.

Probably would benefit no differently than if the stalk were perpendicular to the floor,I KNOW this shit works now I'll never question it again, and never trim itsy bitsy flowers again
