I designed an automatic grow&security system with more functionalities and less cost charged. The system has several features:
1) Remote/automatic monitor temp/ph/tds/ppm/water/CO2 levels
2) remote/automatic control temp/ water/CO2/FANS/Lights and whatever you want to control
3) remote watch plants grow smoothly.
4) Remote/automatic alarm and video surveillance subsystem to ensure your site.(Automatic remote video recording)
5) Remote setting control parameters easily.
Do you think it will be popular? Please give me some inspiration.

It'll be the greatest thing since sliced bread if its reliable, does what you say it does and allows people to grow better herb with less effort.

Is it still on paper or do you have a functioning prototype? If you do, post some pics.

Not askin' for the blueprints... after all I understand the need for some sort of privacy, especially if you're thinking about marketing it.

Im pretty sure computer programs that do those things have been around for a while. What do you guys think people and companies use for legit commercial, industrial hydro applications??? Most are automated. Sounds like you took someone else's idea.

Even if he does not, I have a few ideas.




As we all know, you can get systems such as these already ont he market..their effecacy is in question as to specific control feastures but thats not the point. Suffice to say they are expenmsive.

The question then becomes.... how ghetto can you go?????

Now the pci slot DAU is going to be pricey. I predict the same with the pH sensor and the EC sensor. They are available but I think you will need sometihng along the lines of industrial prcess control sensors.. Otherwise you will be cleaning and calibrating frequently and that defeats teh purpose of this little exercise.

Anyway, as you can see the process layout is not difficult.

the control of specific actuators is going to be dependant upon the type of electromechanical device used so trying to keep all control outputs of each process within the DAU's I?O range will help... Else some addition signal conditioning will be necessary.

SO, anyone want to play and help build a ssytem for all of us here at IC?

like minds I said, the systems are there, its just espensive to use them. I imagine 1 grow would more than pay for all the equipment and still turn a nice profit in say, a house setup where you had 10 or so lights.
Something to add onto these systems would be more alarm type sensors that monitored power output through wires, water pressure through pipes, and lumen output (for popped bulbs), so you could tell if something went wrong that didn't involve pH, EC, or the water level in your rez (which should be attached to a main line anyway to automatically top off or just be HUGE).

Hi Guys;
There are several things I got to say, before any word let's post some tech sketch pic first. However I can't upload my pics, someone can give me help?
Now, let's talk about these stuffs:
1) The remote controller is a standalone MCU device.
2) It can be linked with a local PC or just hooked with phone line.
3) The remote controller can access the device by two ways: a) INternet->PC, b) Phone Line->MCU.
It depands on user.
4) All IC and senors and cameras are Industrial Standard Products. We can provide a reasonable price due to these are straightly from China's factories and no third party invloved.
5) We also provide a Video Surveillance System (Remote) with 16 hidden CCD camera if you need.
16 hidden CCD, you should pay extra.
The reason we provide Video Surveillance system is: traditional alarm system is too easy generating fault alarm signals. Even you use high quality Alarm sensors, the fault allarm ratio is around 90%. To solve this problem, a cutting-edge tech was developed in several Major companies-DCS, GE alarm, Honeywell tec. The tech named as Visual Verification. The Visual Vertification is using Live Video to vertify the alarm signals.
So we provide a Visual Verification service by our video surveilance system. The video surveillance system is standalone low-cost high-profile industrial PC, it give the users live video streaming with very low bitrate (only 40kpbs for a CIF, 352X288pixels in 10~15frames/per sec).
6) All tech and know-hows are developed by our team using 3 years. So I am not worry about other guys can steal my idea to develop same system. If they can, Welcome! There are lots works in Video Compression algorithm (Video Codec), MCU controller, and Networking programs.
7) For some guys worried about online security, pls forgot it. All online data are encrypted with 128 bits encrypt codes. There are very hard to broken. Only authorized guy can view the live video images and remote access the system's devices such as Lamps, Heater, CO2 generator etc.

All that remote stuff is nice,but then I'd probably have to get a regular job pullin wire again and I sure dont want that lol.Seriously,I get more enjoyment out of all the work it takes,and there is a lot,having a machine do it all would take the fun out of it.I dont want a "plug and play" cloner I want to mist my domes and rehydrate my RH cubes,its all part of the gig.What I do takes up plenty of my time,sometimes I definately could use a hand so what the hell am I saying exactly?I dunno

Very cool keep the info coming pics would be great you can upload pics in your gallery when you post a thread or a reply just look were it says update gallery and click on upload pics then select the pics you want. then when you reply you will see your pics and you can choose them when you post.......
