Reliable float valve for RO tank

Hey everyone,

Has anyone found a good reliable float valve for your water tank? I'm using the cheap hydrologic one that comes with the systems and it works ok but I have had them stick/fail in the past and flood a room.

I would like something that is more sturdy so I don't have to worry about floods. I use this one to fill my greenhouse reservoir with tap water. https://www.amazon.com/Little-Giant...727689&sr=1-1&keywords=stock+tank+valve+float

It seems to work good but it is designed to be hooked up to a garden hose and my indoor reverse osmosis filter has a small line.. Maybe there is some way to get from the small RO line to a male garden hose adapter? Then I could use a setup like this designed for higher pressure.

Anyways, if you have any suggestions that would be great.
Thanks

You could get a float valve for aquarium water top off at some pet shops or online, they have cheap ones at about 20$ and they have the a.t.o. automatic top off kits for aquariums which uses a relay to activate a low voltage n.c. (normally closed) valve fed with r/o water I believe but not quite sure don't want to give you wrong advice.. Other aquarium hobbyist arround here might inform you better..those cost 100-200$ but can be built for much cheaper if you have some diy skills.

Or you could get that little giant float valve and get the fittings that reduces the 3/4" hose inlet to a 1/4 " fitting for r/o tubing.

Hydrologic has a heavy duty float valve, an electronically controlled float valve and a leak detector shutoff. I only collect 3 gallons at a time, so I keep my bucket in a utility sink - if the float valve fails, overflow runs down the drain. For larger capacity needs, some combination of those shutoff systems should work.
