Reinstate Hank Williams Sr.

Hey guys,here's a link to an online petition to reinstate Hank back into the Grand Old Opry.He got kicked off when he was alive for being a little too Hank for them to handle and he didn't live long enough to get it straightened out.This is a chance to correct history for Hank fans,even if the Grand Old Opry doesn't think so.

JLP thanks for the post...I started playing old country with a western band in 73 for the Honkey Tonks around here. Hank Sr. was all over our song list and enjoyed by many. I seemed to be out of place for a kid my age...18 at the time...but never regreted it! Dr. Duck.....

This petition has been around a little while but it seems a new push is on.I don't see what the hold up is,the people at the Opry don't seem to have any problem claiming Hank's legacy,you'd think they'd be a little more open to the subject.

I almost forgot but for the serious Hank Sr. fans here,there's a guy named Brian Turpen who just released a new book called "Ramblin" man".It's pretty good,not your conventional book,more of a collection of obscure stories,articles,documents and photos.Anyway it's over at E-bay for about 15 bucks,just search the author and name of the book.

your right about the opry having no problem claiming his legacy, I love the movie heart of gold, where neil young plays the opry using the same guitar that hank senior used the last time he played there.

Right on guys.

Hank got fired on 8/10 or 8/11 of '52.The official reason for him being fired was for missing a date at WSM on 8/9.About 4 months later Hank was dead.
