can i melt and add more trim to my butter ? or will that push out the old and degrade it?? so id end up as if i did 1 run of butter not 2??

No, as long as you have it on simmer mode versus boiling....that's when it breaks down and starts to degrade when it gets too hot, boiling away properties.
