im going to be growing some northern lights and c-99 and will be growing them from seed and vegging them and flowering them in the same room under the same light, but id also like to have a crack at taking some clones, however, i wont have anywhere to veg the clones until the room is empty, would i be able to grow the plants, take cuttings at the start of 12 12 after sex, stick them in the fridge for the flowering period, take them out root them then veg em in the now empty room and flower them, as im sure i read soemthign like this on overgrow or where my eyes playing tricks on me, is there a way to preserve cuttings so i can save them till my mothers have flowered? any help appreciated greatly.

try a search on og on storing clones and subcool i belive he used a method that sounds similar to that keeping them in the veggie crisper. i dont think it they will last more than a week or two though im not sure. hope this helps.

very easy, i just cut them and put them in a cup with water and inside the fridge.they stay good and healty for about 2-4 weeks but ive manneged 8 weeks and still getting 100% rooting.just make sure you dont run out of water.i also take the light bulb out of the fridge.
also works in zip lock bags. when i want to use them, i take them out,make a new cut, deep in powder and inside the rockwool. dont forget to make a new clean cut...
i just rooted 15 mental-floss cuts that have been 6 weeks in the fridge and they all rooted in about 3 days.

I have a question? Does it matter if they begin to root? In the past I have been able to keep cuttings in just a cup of water in my spare bedroom. The light source in there is just a ceiling fan with lights. I keep the ceiling fan on low to circulate the air and the cuttings rooted, it took 2-3 weeks. The water is changed about once a week. The cups are the standard plastic beer keg type cups. They are colored red or blue. I believe they are 16 oz. I think it is better if the cups are dark or colored. That way no light gets to the roots. If you do it this way and want to keep them until you are done flowering they will be ready to go once flowering is complete.
What I have done is get some styrofoam and traced the outline on the top of the cup, I then cut the styrofoam to fit into the top of the cup. I poke a hole in the styrofoam and slide the cutting into to hole and have it rest on top of the water in the cup. Once I am ready I just cut the stryofoam and remove the cutting roots and all. They are ready to be put in soil. I would say I have experienced a 90% success rate overall. This is similiar to a method that I have read about here, I don't recall who wrote about it but it works and it has worked well for me.

there was a thread by caprichoso that shows you water cloning. I bring up this point because it was one way to keep the cut alive for weeks while also giving it a head start on rooting, it didn't require a lot of light or space.
You can refrigerate it but I can't remember how, there was a thread here.
Also though you shouldn't flower after you make a cut, you should wait for the plant to recover for at least a week preferably 10-14 days.

The crisper drawer and a ziploc bag will provide a suitable stasis* chamber for fresh cuttings for up to around 6..7..8 weeks.
In order to obtain this sort of longevity in the fridge, the bag containing the dry, unrooted branches should be opened to breathe at least once a week,better yet,twice a week. Partially puff the bag before sealing with your breath...
Cuttings that are kept in the refrigerator this way actually will root faster than conventional non-refrigerated cuttings once they are removed from the coolness of the refrigerator on up to a point of about 2 or 3 weeks, which at that time they will take proceed to take longer to root and you may even just lose a few.
Important: When they are removed from the refrigerator to be rooted, be sure to recut the stem.
