Hi ya'll, a follow up to my article on producing ethanol from scratch, demonstrating the easy way to 95% 190 proof purity.

I just use a vigreux column in my lab glass distillation still to get my high grade alcohol.

With molecular dying 3a sieves I pushed my 95% to 98+% with another distillation round.

Much of the post WWII glass was an artform in it's self.
Was blessed with some stunning pieces over the years.
Lot of it still out there at amazing prices given the
level of skill it took to produce such gear.

Hard to say because I mostly built if out of what I had in the junk/treasure pile.

a ball park figure would be fine. If you choose not to go that route that is fine too I am a single user and can't quite see going through the expense. We don't have everclear here, but I do have access to it, inter-provincially.

The column with clamps, packing, and insulation was under $150.

Just take a trip to Denver and go to a liquor store. I buy 1.75 l for ~$ 20 it's called 420 extractor. The company is local they were selling direct for $20 gal.
