hi please help ive got 3 chronics which are two an a half weeks into flower and are showin sum nice buds and are lookin realy nice but on all 3 plants the branches connected to the fan leaves have gone a shade of red. it doesnt seem to have affected the growth and the leaves are a dark green ranging from seven nine and eleven fingers. They are under a 600 watt sodium hib the grow room is 2 by 2 metres well ventilated with a temp of around 23 to 26 degrees and humidity is around 45 to 55. Oh and i am using house and garden a and b for ferts in 14 litre pots in soil. Any help would be much appreciated.

some plants just do that, it can also be a sign of some nute issues, check the sick plant sticky at the top of this forum.

Sounds like you got a color changing strain...... 73F may be slightly cool enough to change them, some change without cooler temps some need colder temps to change....

You have any pictures of them?

More growing information would help out a ton..... what strain are you growing if known?

WWhat soil brand are you using?
How tall are the plants?
WHat is the pH run off?
WHat brand nutrients are you using and how much and how often?

There's been multiple postings on this topic ncj, do a quick search for "purple stems" in the cannabis infirmary forum...

It is my personal belief that plants will do this usually once flowering has started, a sign of stress? maybe... but if you aren't seeing nitrogen deficiency (yellowing of the blades from the outer edges inwards) then you are okay... they might be asking for some more PK but that's your personal call depending on flower growth rate... I wouldn't be too concerned, but do some reading to be sure...

On another note, I have no experience with H&G but usually you want to provide adequate N to the plants during the first 3-4 weeks of budding as this is the stage when the sugar leaves start to "form" the shape of the buds, and fan leaves start to get elongated and will also help reduce excessive stretching...

Good luck, sounds like you are on the right track...

Hi Dragor cheers for the reply, no there's no yellowing of the leaves they are a lovely dark shade of green (is it usual to have upto 11 fingers on leaves, never heard of this before?)

Hello ncj, pictures would help out a lot if you could post them; that way we could all make sure if there is a problem you can get it fixed.
