those fighting against the problems inherent in "red flag" laws and how they are applied got more evidence after a woman in Fort Collins Colorado (Susan Holmes) was charged & convicted of lying over her accusations of the officer who was involved in her son's killing by police. we DO HAVE problems that "red flag" laws could help, but the abuse/misuse of those laws should be treated harshly. there have already been cases where a spouse/ex falsely accused someone of abuse in order to have their firearms confiscated, thereby stripping them of their right to self-defense and, apparently more egregious to some, the ability to go hunting.
