Recycle!

I am using the same soil after 3 + years. I add a bit more potting soil to top off the tub, add a bit of blood meal, a bit of bone meal, some kelp and a bit of epsom salts and let the worms do the work. My grows are FINE! The Earth does not "dump" soil after every winter season... why should I? Just try to keep a "as close to natural set-up" and things should be fine! - Granny :joint:

Really? That's amazing.

I have a DVD with a High Times grow guide. One of the chapters said to always dump your soil and never to reuse it, but what you say does make sense; the earth has ways of reusing the same soil over and over. I know that peoples that live in the rain forest clear land by doing controlled burns, and this is very good for the soil. Perhaps burn your plant down after harvest? lol, j/k about that last part.

Throw some hygrozyme into your soil. It is expensive, however totatlly worth it. Not only does it produce monster roots, but it also converts dead plant material, including roots, into usable food for you plants. It is amazing. Expect large roots, faster growth, and huge buds. PLus it makes your soil easy to reuse without sifting out roots. I have recycled my FFOF soil with a little hygrozme and add fresh FFOF soil. Good to go.

And after all, what could be better than reusing the soil?? When synthetic nutrients are used going soil, can it still be reused? I think i read somewhere that doing so was no bueno.
