Recycling grow junk? How to get rid of?

Are Rockwool cubes just single use? If so, that would generate a lot of waste, which as an environmentally caring person bothers me. How do you get rid of these? Old ballasts? Bulbs? Spent filters, bags/bottles etc etc etc...
why can't the grow stores recycle these? Yeah I guess bringing something to them that could potentially have traces of something cannabis with it would not be good. But there has to be a better way. (personally I think anything sold anywhere should be required to be recyclable) Any ideas?

rockwool depends on where you live, some greenwaste folks accept it, i remember a cali member saying that that it could be shredded and used for mulch in vineyards.

that simple? really? Don't get me wrong, I thank you for responding! But it may be that simple in parts of Europe, or California/Oregon/Washington/Colorado, but elsewhere you have to be concerned how your actions look to others who may not approve. Granted my state is fairly lenient, but still I would feel uncomfortable disposing certain things in the manner you suggest. I would hope I get more responses than a thread about waxing poetic about farts (actually a movie title that you would name in honor of your fart or something like that, in which case I may choose Terminator) that is like 4 pages long now!

Give up on the rockwool, go to coco coir, then it can just go on the compost or veg patch. All labels removed from bottles and then recycled, as much imagination as possible to re-use and recycle everything else
Or, just grow outdoors, virtually no waste then.
Please share any genius ideas you have.

rockwool is so 80s....I don't use it anymore ever.organic..we got a dumpster ..someone else gets to deal with it..i don't have much waste so not really an issue..my ballasts are rebuildable not digital at the moment.. bulbs always been an issue ..no one wants them!!!!.. I tend to bust them in bag and into commercial dumpster..maybe any place that sells bulbs should have to take back old ones like oil for your car....yeehaw

in the city you can just put it outside... if you put it in box and lable it antiques and tape it up real good irt will disappear...try it with small box full of dogshit and label it jewelry...sit back and watch...yeehaw
