Recommendations for Indoor trees 6 Plants OMMP

Hello Friends I'm back home to the icmag grow forums after a long hiatus posting here and on o.g.

I'm happy to report I have decided to move to OR and dedicate my life the the cultivation and extraction of this sacred plant in a beautiful state with a much better attitude twords organic medicine.

I will be purchasing land in the next month or two and doing a fresh build out for my personal 6 plant OMMP garden.

I come from Multiroom multilight perpetual scrogs in ebb and flow and aero setups using PBP and Hydrotron in netpots. Utilizing whatever plant numbers I needed to get a reasonable GPW from my ops

Mission : Grow 6 Plants yielding 2lbs+ per plant indoor in a perpetual cycle.

My initial thoughts are smartpot lined beds of coco utilizing a feed to waste regimen like Medicropper is currently using

With 2 1K gavitas per plant.

I am a 15yr hydro grower and I'm sure I could do some crazy big DWC action or something but it just seems more stable to try beds and the coco medium when I have my whole harvest riding on 6 HUGE trees.

I would love your guys input on the current school of thought on long veg times to produce a large canopy that could utilize 2K of DE Gavitas to it's full potential on one plant.

All recommendations are welcome!

Thanks for the input guys

If you want to grow high yielding trees, you'll need to go with vertical lighting. Otherwise you'll have tall plants with a lot of scraggly useless larf on the bottom of the plants. You'll get quicker return, and probably more yield per year with shorter plants, like 4-5'. Good luck. -granger

I like this idea, I've always done 600-1000w in aircooled hoods above my screens. Are you suggesting vertical lighting as the primary light source?

seems like you should do a scrog setup to maximize yield... no?

I was thinking if I go with the 4x4x1 beds on casters I would frame up a screen 18-24" above the top of the planting medium and go down 12" on a couple sides so I have more surface area to train the tree into during a long veg cycle. I'm guessing I'm going to have to veg. 8-10 weeks instead of my standard 4 when running multi plant per light setups. To get the type of production per plant I'm trying to achieve. If I do go with a multisided scrog training regimen it should certainly benifit from the vertical lighting Granger mentioned.

I'd rather use more smaller fixtures than a couple giant fixtures but it's up to you. If you used say four 600 watt gavita (if you have to have d.e. then get the 750 Flux and run it on 600 unless you are really nuts) and spread them out you would be able to get some nice spread. Costly but so is 2 of the 1ks... power and cost seem last priority compared to yield here.

Sounds pretty amusing. You could always throw a couple outdoor plants out there for extra harvest I'm sure the cops aren't looking there for 3 of them in the bush. Autos can be sweet done before summer is...

Thanks for the feedback CoCoSativas!

What are your thoughts on the 4 vs 2 light sources?
More even lumen spread?
Less intensity for the ladies in certain zones of the canopy?
I usually run light rails in my gardens so I don't get hot spots and can evenly spread my lumens across my canopy.

And your def. correct equipment cost doesn't really matter as I have lights, hoods, filters, fans and ac units in storage from other projects. I def want to factor power consumption into feasibility for system design.

And I def. here ya on the O.D. There will be multicard greenhouses next summer on other properties I will be enjoying as well so this 6 plant project is my personal and thought it would be fun to see how much medicine I could pull from the 6 while staying within my OMMP plant numbers.

I'm suggesting vertical lighting as the primary lighting if you want to grow trees. Not for scrog. -granger

I like the gavitas 600/750 w DE. Vertical would be the way to go for a 6 plant tree style grow. If you really wanna do the scrog why not try a wall of weed setup. 2 vert lights stack in the center x 3 down the lane, screen walls oneach side with plants outside growing into light bonded to the screen. Ive always wanted to try the wall of weed setup. I think this is best with higher plant numbers, but if you vegged and trained the shit outta 6 plants u could get some excellent G/sqft.

Check out Marlo's wall of weed, and go from there. I poo poo'd vertical until I looked more into it, and those guys are killing it. If I could only grow 6 I would go vertical or very large soil pots.

Once I saw Marlo's wall I thought well hell if I didn't give a hoot about veg time and had the right strain, there is no reason the results won't be negative.

This community is great for spitballing ideas, I love it!

Congrats on the move !

For me there isnt much question how I do this.....

I would start a plant every 5 weeks....

This way every plant has 10 weeks to flower..... 2 plants in flower

4 in veg....all 5 weeks apart....
