one rule of thumb i usually go by is...if you have to ask...it's usually needs at least 2 weeks lol. that's saying, i've never seen a pic of a truly ripe bud posted by a first time grower, asking if it's time yet. usually if they can wait till it's truly ripe, they know it's ripe. sadly a lot of people pic early every time, because they never test how long they can really go, and what a bud looks like when they really push that ripeness window, the difference can really be the difference between beasters and the best buds on the planet! afterall that is all that "beasters" are, early picked buds, of any strain. it really has nothing to do with coming from british columbia, thats just myth. it can be hard at first because the last few weeks the buds don't change much, the changes are mostly chemical, within the trichomes, and the buildup of terpenes(the chemicals that make the smell/taste). no offense or anything, just what ive observed from over a decade of trolling the weed sites and in my own small personal garden. i wont take my ogkush untill 80-84 days, thats about 3 months of budding...how long has yours been going...the thing about ogkush is it looks ready at around 56 days compared to a lot of strains, or if you go by the zeus theology(i do!), meaning most of the hairs are withered and the calyxes are plump, but if you check the trichomes with a 30x loupe none of the trichomes will be amber and the bud will be lacking in flavor/smell when dry. it's the only strain i know of as of yet that does this, and doesn't follow zeus's method, most strains are around 25-50% amber when the calyxes plump up and the hairs retract into the calyx.

just a guess but i'm gonna say your at 50-56 days right now? 7-8 weeks? it could use several week imo, up too 4...keep an eye on the trichs and resist the urge to pop those sweet lemon buds early...you will be glad you did, the buds just get frostier and frostier, it's a very very white strain, lots of glitter too, compared to buds sitting right alongside it, you will also see a lot plumper, tighter buds if you wait, and you will get a more full bodied high.

i have heard some people say you can go even longer, like 90+ days, it's a unique strain like that, but an early pic with this strain can really be a little disappointing...

in case you haven't read it yet, this is a really good thread to read about ripening, it's what i use to decide ripeness on every strain BUT og kush. http://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/210501-zeuss-take-harvesting.html
