Reaching maturity

This is my first grow. I got 2 bushy little Northernberry girls at a month of veg showin me their preflowers. They're only 7 inches tall, around 14 inches across, have 8 main branch pairs, and no alternate nodes. I think I can flower it now but how much will my yield suffer if I don't wait until they're at least a foot?

I wouldnt even flower a seedplant at 12 inches, theres little point to flowering a small seedplant really. Are you going to take cuts?Thats what you need to do,and do it before you switch to 12/12.I know you won't understand this now because I damn sure didn't understand it when mr. soul said it years ago on OG,flowering seedplants period is a losing proposition.I know it to be true now all to well. Its much better productivity-wise to flower the cuts from a seedplant and discard whats left of it.I dont flower seedplants anymore when on a pheno hunt, just the cuts from them but if I did it would be trees not small seedplants. If you need to learn to clone JJ Scorpio has a good sticky and there are long term cloners here everyday

i definetly would wait to flip the lights. no sense in flowering a plant without having clones and such :bashhead: :rasta:

and on the subject of seed plants, i flowered a seed out of an 1/8th of some tange weed (orange). it ended up being an extremely extremely bushy plant, i thought about throwing it away before flowering but man i am glad i didnt!!! she turned out to be the biggest plant with tons of nice nugs growing on them ( not large ones, a bunch of nugglets) and the smell is amazing. super sweet and pungent.

anyway what i am getting at is if u have the room in your grow room why not flower a seed plant? but definetly take clones before u flip, and taking clones arent as hard as alot of people try and tell you. i just cut i small sized lanky under growth about 3-4 inches long (at most) skinnier the better in my book, they root faster. i get grow dan cubes (spelling), soak them in a conditioning solution, then splice the bottom end of the clone of the center of the stalk (not very much just about 1/2in) to make for more root growth. dip it in my powder root hormone from wal-mart and put in the cube, rip small pieces off to fill in the hole in the cube. i keep about 100 clones in a 50 gal(i think) tote and i can either lay a shop light on top of it or install a fixture with the right kind of bulb. i simply just make sure they got water until roots pop out of the bottom  :rasta: :joint:

hope u understand, peace

I have been informed that Peakseeds Northernberry is almost impossible to clone. Have you heard anything like that? I have clonex and books to help me with the process, the reason I had decided not to clone was because of the info from the other grower.

BTW: nice plants dude!! I hope mine look like that..

Thanx guys
