Re: Dennis Peron on Tax and Regulate

The honest nature of the video is refreshing.

As for Apples and Oranges I disagree. We need to inform our citizenry.

I for one won't cry if Tax2010 fails.

We still have the People who will win in the long run. We have arrived here because of the people. So Pass or Fail we will overcome.

That Tax2010 could fail is a real possibility since we have growers and dealers against this and a lot of folks who say yes the are in favor saying No they won't vote.

For those of us that have debated this form the start here we know that Tax2010 isn't Legalization and Dennis Peron does point this out.
Dennis Peron is in favor of self regulation of growers so that should satisfy many with no government testing.

Dennis Peron isn't able to be in Canna-business for life so his opinions are just opinions.

I am not sure why political discussion about Dennis Peron's interview is a Taboo topic here..

So Yes do have a watch and see a man of our history.

Tax2010 isn't the Best We Californians can do!

I am not wanting to vote for Tax2010 just because they went back to add that I can be fired from my job for testing positive when they could have helped protect the working class and they made it clear they were not going to defend us. So when Big Cann-business is against the Tokers why support it?

They do make a point.. That we have suffered harsh prison terms for Cannabis and Tax2010 makes even harsher prison terms a reality.

3 years for a Joint is part of what Tax2010 is about.

I didn't realize that crap had made it into this proposed law.

Frankly I'm surprised that I even learned about it here. It seems this would normally get moved to the California sub thread.

I think I have that correct. The Update reflects the Supreme Court's decision on "Range-Wire?" I hope I have that name correct, that we can be fired for testing positive no mater what the situation and with Tax2010 I believe it specifically states it supports that :

This Act is not intended to affect the application or enforcement of the following state laws relating to public health and safety or protection of children and others: Health and Safety Code sections 11357 [relating to possession on school grounds]; 11361 [relating to minors as amended herein]; 11379.6 [relating to chemical production]; 11532 [relating to loitering to commit a crime or acts not authorized by law]; Vehicle Code section 23152 [relating to driving while under the influence]; Penal Code section 272 [relating to contributing to the delinquency of a minor]; nor any law prohibiting use of controlled substances in the workplace or by specific persons whose jobs involve public safety.

Where "Public Safety" means "Workplace Safety" and is all about firing workers that test positive for Cannabis.
We all know I can smoke Friday night and test positive the next Friday afternoon even tho I didn't smoke all week.
This is direct political pandering to establish fortune for some and oppression and loss for others.

I feel it's safe to say that Tax2010 seeks to massage all aspects of current accepted Cannabis Oppression to gain permission to establish a Market. A market I understand they are now seeking to have, where the Federal limits are waved for a few large commercial operations in and around the Bay area.
And I stress "A FEW" There will be no open competition. It will be a selective Monopoly and I would guess those Whorehouses Lee's group owns are on the list for possible sites. I do remember reading something about some buildings associated with Lee's group. I need to be updated on this as I only remember vaguely but it was two or three years before they filed Tax2010.

I believe the affiliation of cannabis workers with the Food Workers Union while at the same time seeking Support to oppose limits placed on possible Cann-Business from Federal sources by Oakland and surrounding areas by California Legislature means that those Business people in that area are seeking to get and dominate the market while many counties are considered "Dry" and Non-Canna-Business counties.

If I have been reading things correctly we do have a central clearing house for Cannabis already in California and the Electronic banking infrastructure of Software and automatic Tax collection on Cannabis sales in place already.

So is this real Legalization for the people? No it isn't.

I do understand how the Folks from the Netherlands think. They really do favor a Libertarian position but Friends in the USA and Especially California our political process works with the Hard Left and The Hard Right fighting it out. Especially in the Central Valley here.
We will Never be a land of Libertarians.

There is no way to support Cannabis change and lock down discussions that seem to offend a Libertarian point of view when it comes to California.

And i don't care if folks make money or not if Freedom is the victim of Tax2010. No one should go to jail for Cannabis.

Great thread thank you for sticking up for the truth. Many people forget that none of us would enjoy our canna freedom currently in California if it weren't for Dennis Peron.
