Rate My Grow Box - New Grower

Hey guys,

Im a first time grower and would appreciate some input/feedback/suggestions! Im currently trying to grow, without much success. I successfully germinated 3 bag seeds and had all 3 turn to seedlings. All seedlings grew to roughly 3 inches in my grow box with no light on. I turned on the light and one died the next day and the other the day after that. My third was going fine until yesterday when the neck wilted and turned brown. I have some fem Northern Lights × Big Budon the way so Im kind of using this as a teat run.

Anywho sorry for the life story, here's the box:

Its an emptied out speaker box, roughly 15" deep x 15" wide and 4' tall. Its mylar lined on the inside and has an intake hole in the front (no fan) and an exhaust hole on the tops front and back. I have a 60w 6500k CFL hanging from an adjustable chain to accommodate growth.

The exhaust hole, does it have a fan? So the air is in rotation.
How far from the plant are the light?

Water minimum at this stage! Keep the soil moistured tho

cumputer fans are great for this, they are flat, quite and, you can screw them right over the hole.

Are you really trying to hide the grow or are you just doing it for fun?

If you are trying to hide it, I would put it somewhere less conspicuous. The fans are going to be audible to someone in the chair next to it and the smell come flowering will be tough to mask.

You should flower as soon as possible and prune lower branches. That light will only really be effective on the upper most tops. Keep it prunes and trained because it is going to fill that space very quickly.

I assume you are not legal. That means you are taking a substantial risk. It takes at least 8 weeks to flower a plant. Then you have to dry and trim. IMO you'd be lucky to get an ounce with that setup.

Is an ounce of weed every 2 months worth a felony if you get caught?

Thanks for your concern RonSmooth but I am 100% legal .

Setup isnt meant to be stealth or hidden away, I just had 2 speakers sitting here that I thought would be good for 1 plant in each.

Would you recommended a larger box? I only intend on having 2 plants (3 at the very most) going at a time. I'm only trying to be resourceful and doing this low cost.

Well man I am also a legal grower. I try to give my plants as much space as I can . If I could afford it I would have a warehouse. The more space and light you give a plant the more it will produce. This is also true for the rizosphere big roots give you give bud... It's kind of like a iceburg but with more of a even balance closer to 50/50 then 90/10 with the iceburg. Dealing with plant systems is like any other system . It is only as good as its weakest point. So where ever your bottle neck is in the system it will limit the rest to that point. You need to have a balanced garden with good food , light and environmental controls. I would recommend you digging into the archives here and read some tutorials .
