My current light is 110...is there an adapter that can connect 110 plug to a 240 outlet?
Thanks

As an electrician, I've never seen a product as such. I hate to say I doesn't exist, because theoretically it could (Possibly). Why not use the Washer receptacle. Should be dedicated 20 Amp 120V.

Hey VT, if you look on the inside of one of those distribution panels, you'll notice that it's basically just a small breaker box. If you're electrically inclined, you can easily build it from components for under $100 and have however many 120v's or 240's that you want as long as you don't draw more than the rated input.

hey there VT, nice to see ya around.

i seem to remember a thread back at OG where a guy (darksoul?) built something similar to that (only bigger) from home depot parts. had it all mounted to a piece of plywood.

as for your adapter question, no there ain't one.

if you do buy a panel "pre-made", adding a couple more outlets really is pretty simple. let me know, and i'll walk ya thru it.

Hey MTF-Sandman!!! I'm not electrically inclined, unfortunately.....I'll just run lights with it....hey if my outlet runs off a 50AMP breaker...can I use a 30 AMP distribution panel like this???

You'll probably have to get a range plug and use it instead of the standard dryer plug that comes on 30a feeds, but yeah it'll work fine.

If you feel like building you're own, I'll be happy to walk you through it and get a parts list for ya. I just setup a 125a breaker box for my future use and I must say that it's SOOO much nicer than those prefab setups. Total cost was around $85 with a T104 timer (already had 6/3 wire drop in attic).

It really allows you to customize everything to suit your needs, but I certainly understand the appeal of plug and play with the prebuilt setups.

Thread rusurrection...Bumpety bump, bump, bump-bump... :D

Wanna thank my mentor MTF-Sandman for all the help behind the scenes...looks like I deleted some stuff :D

Ever seen those 50A or 30A distribution panels sold at dro shops?
...problem is...all the outlets are 220!! My lights are 110...and I prefer buying 110 lights...and I have several appliances that are 110...so that does me no good...also I mostly wanted something like this to consolidate my power...too many extension cords and stuff...

^^^That 50A timer box is $325

I'm building one...almost finished too....

Cost me about $300 to build.... (that 6/3 wire aint cheap!)....it will plug intop my 50A range outlet...it will have the capabilty to handle my appliances and over 8K HPS

When I'm finished I'll share some pics...

Thanks Sandman!!!

Heya VT

Can't wait to see her in action...Guess that means you're gonna throw up an 8k+ setup here in the near future huh? :D

I

irie-i

this here board is wired for 220 and 110. the 220's are the 8 on the left, they are timed... the 110 are the 2 pairs on the right. the plugs are all the same as the 110, theyre cheaper and hopefully noone else but me will ever touch it. the circuit breakers are just an after thought. the board used to be wired into a dryer outlet.

Lol...I aint ever gettin' near 8K....but nice knowing I could :D Good to see ya Sandman

High irie-i  Mine will look very similar....thanks for posting that pic...reminds me...I want a timer someday....and I too plan to label the outlets and beakers as you have....

Sandman...I forgot that you reccomended that T104 timer....I'll be getting that as well....but I will have to add it later (broke)....that's what's so cool...we can customize these to fit our needs....

I'll be running 2 dehumidifiers, 3K HPS (2 will be switchables), a 12K BTU Window AC, 9K BTU portable AC...and veg floros etc....all from one source....

I'll be finished in a few days looks like

The T-104 is a 208/277V timer,I dont think thats what you want.If you're at 120V you want the T-101.At 240V the best one to go with is th WH 40 "little gray box" 240V hot water heater timer. It has an external on-off lever that the "T" series timers dont have.

he (Sandman) mentioned a few different timers to me a while back and I may have cited the wrong model....in either case...great post bro...thanks!

VegRoom

DWC recirc under a 6 bulb T8 set

I will have a perpetual rotation...
plants will "preveg" in soilles before going to
DWC...as is the case for these Shark Shock

Bubble Cloner housed in veg tent

The bloom room will be approx 6 x 11 x 9. Pool liner on floor
Emergency Blanket for refelction
Lot more work to do....
I am either doing 9 buckets and 3K or 8 buckets and 2400K....4 will be DWC recirc...and 4 (or more) will be standalones

peace

Some progress on the bloom room

Some progress on the bloom room

Thanks mushupork5

wide angle shot of unfinished bloom room....
2 dehumidifiers....8 buckets....
9K BTU Portable AC for veg tent and area outside of bloom room....

Anchored 2 x 4 's into the walls...

Then nailed 1 x 4's for the baseboard and pool liner....
I'll use 1 x 4's at the tops also then staple the panda
and install zipper doors....

But first I need to install the new 12K BTU window Ac unit w remote

The 1K switchable up and running...

The new Sun Systems 1K HPS remote ballast...

And the Hydrofarm 400W HPS

For a total of 2400W HPS in a 6 x 11....still shy of 50w/sq ft....someday....

Almost finished...still need to build a bloom DWC recirc....4 of the 8 slots will be standalones...(and I'll toss in unsexed plants to fill any gaps)...

Cost only $250 for this 12K BTU...wow...it really rocks!!! My 9K BTU portable cost $500

Gotta build a DWC recirc and I am done for a while...til I get CO2...and a few more "ancillary items"

Portable AC's suck...chumps

Looking good VT :D

Can't wait to see the Shark Shock blow up in those buckets...she can be a little finicky on the nutes, so make sure to watch her.
