basically, we have a topup electric meter and on a few occasions in the past 2weeks or so, iv forgot to topup and the powers gone off whilst i was out. from what my timer shows, light go on for an hour ish, then off for up to 5 hours until i return home. this has happened 4 times now, whats the chance they will hermi. on me? and what kind of delay would this put on things?
thanks for any help

if they're solid genes, you'll be fine. if not they may hermie. but usually it's interrupted dark that causes stress. as long as the lights weren't on when the plant was used to being asleep you might be ok./

Interruptions in the light cycle do nothing but inhibit photosynthesis and growth.

Think about clouds on an outdoor grow, they don't cause hermaphrodites.

But , yea you are increasing your flower time with almost half your light cycle in the dark. That needs fixed.

Ummm yeah but I'd like to clarify that interruptions of the DARK cycle can cause issues.

the cloud analogy was not too accurate considering an indoor situation with complete dark, and out door with cloud cover. And if some one starts to think about the full moon, keep in mind the moon is pure blue spectrum which plants are not as photo reactive to in flower, as opposed to red spectrum.

As stated it depends on the genetics and how far they are into flower. The deeper into flower the less they'll want to herm out or re-veg. However at the very end of flower if you fuck with the cycle you can cause small single banana herms but the pollen won't be that viable and the pollen won't explode out like with a regular male flower, and all your flowers will be too far along to even take seed, so you'll prolly be good there.

I wouldn't trip cause there's nothing to do now except keep you meter up.

Thanks for the help guys. so far they are both (2 x bubblegummer, female seeds) doing really good.
They never get an interrupted dark period, its only ever been lights off when they should be on.
I do remember reading a while ago that its the amount of darkness that induces flower, rather than the amount of light. The article was about experimental light cycles (24on/12off) and apparently reducing flowering times. weather or not its speeds things up, it did still produce flowers.

My worry stemmed from several lots of shitty genetics iv used before, that hermi. at the slightest stress. But so far the bubblegummer is looking lovely, so damn frosty!
Banging strain to grow, never tried the finished product,, yet, but i hear good things.

For anyone who was thinking of running her, do it!
from 2 seeds I got 2 phenos, one sweet (indica), one savoury (sativa). I don't usually like variation like this, as it makes hight difference etc.. an issue, but these are both so individual I couldn't be happier!

The sweet pheno is really fruity, not a fresh light fruit, but deep and sugary.

The savoury pheno is something really special, to me anyway, ROAST CHICKEN CRISPS!
When I was younger I always remember the roast chicken, no one could ever tell me what it actually was. so im ecstatic to have this strain!

you're always gonna find intermediate phenos when you run seeds unless they're inbred several generations. most seed you buy is f1 or f2 lots of variation.

Well if the breeder is actually doing things right it should be at least a F4 or F5. The goal is to get a 1:1 ratio in the progeny, of the traits you want to see. However there many shitty breeders out there so buyers beware!
