raises serious mental illness by 40 percent

What most media fails to mention is that several studies have discovered marijuana can have a positive effect on shizofrenia. People with a certain allele of the COMT gene are prone to schizofrenia. In high doses cannabis still increases the likelyhood, but in small doses has shown to level out the bad effects of this gene.

I can't find a link in english right now, just dutch but i'll keep on looking. (I think one of the studies was done at king's college in london)

I do tend to get paranoid delusions when I've smoked too much sometimes, especially when my tolerance is low but I think smoking from the age of 14 didn't help. I'd think it would be relatively harmless if you started smoking it after the teenage years.
On a sidenote i get reaaally low if i've been on the booze for a few days, not quite suicidal but damn depressed. I do tend to abuse both though so i think it's just me.
