so i just collected 6 gallons of rainwater in under 5 minutes...what do ya'll know about rainwater's usefulness?

well i know it has many hydrating properties. it could probably prove very useful if your house is on fire. i think some of the smart folks around here can come up with more ideas as well........

Hello all,

You can wash with it.

You can cook with it.

You can swim in it- if you have enough.

You can raise fish

You can mix stuff in it for all kinds of other stuff that is usefull.

I even heard some use it to water thier gardens with- some have been know to grow in just rainwater.

Buahahahaha

I think it is treated as having the same properties as distilled- although depending on where you live- it may be more acidic then distilled. I believe it is void of minerials also like distilled.

I think RO is pH neutral and has no minerals or other contaminates.

I think with the above water types you may have to add magnesium and calcium and sulfur I believe.

Just pokin' fun at you.

Good luck,

I might be working with a company soon that builds things in your house/property to harvest the rainwater... and store it, and use it for much of your housing needs.

Pepe, add 2 gallons Tequila, 2 gallons sweet and sour mix, half a dozen sliced limes and a shit load of icecubes. Call a dozen friends, have them stop at Taco Hell on the way over, break out a pound of cured stash and several bongs. Voila! You have your very own mexican party.

On a serious note(though I try never to be serious), as Minds I stated, it is similar to RO water and close to distilled, though depending on the area, it could be acidic from atmospheric pollution. Does not contain N.

Hello all,

I got to thinking that rain water would have atmospheric gases in solution so I googled- Viola! (or as we say here in California Wala).

http://www.sahra.arizona.edu/programs/water_cons/home/roof.htm

Perhaps BC there might even be some links for you to follow for your storage system designs. How s that coming along? Have you made any tests of your wick design- I recall that looked like it had potential.
