R/O Water From Machine In Front Of Grocery Store?

Does anyone here use the water from those R/O machines in front of grocery stores? I got some and tested the pH. Local water from the tap here is 8.4 and the water the machine dispensed was 7.0 or slightly lower. I don't have a combo pen to fully test it with.

The company selling it is Glacier. Is thier water suitable or is it bad for our plants? At only $.35 a gallon, it's cheaper then distilled water from WalMart.

Any thoughts?

I use the water from one of those machines for my soil grow, but it's not glacier (I don't remember what brand it is). I don't have a ppm tester, but I do have a pH pen, and the water usually comes out right about 6.7-6.8. I don't trust the tap water in southern california, and it's 25 cents/gallon, so it seems to make sense. You might have to add some microblast or cal-mag though, because some nutes are meant to be used with tap water.

I think its fine just look at the filtering process its there in writing and make sure there is no sodium added in the procedure

Another thing I do, if I don't finish a bottle of water at home. I won't drink it the next day( bit of a germ a phob ) but my plants like it, I just throw it in my large res I store water in. Bottle water has micro nutrients in it my tap water does not have. Calcium etc. It is just a small amount compared to the big res, but I figure it would not hurt

My tapwater is highly calcified as is so many growers, and its the cause of a big percentage of plant problems early on.People use calcified tapwater with a dolomite lime kicker, totally lock out magnesium then the fun begins..Is it PH,over/undernute/lighting environmental problems? So often its too much calcium which will delete your magnesium from the equation, totally. Then people look at classic mag defeciency pics and say that doesnt look quite like mine.I just have yellowing along the edges of the leaves...The interveinal schlorossis or whatever comes a lot later and people go through hell with misdiagnosises. Its the only time I suggest foliar feeding an epsom salts mix, before going through the insanity.I dont foliar feed as a regimen but epsom foliar is a supposed miracle in those situations.

I got some epsom standing by, just in case.

Based on the responses here, I'm going to go ahead and use this machine dispensed R/O water.

The water sounds fine, just make sure you add some calmag if your nutrients don't have cal and mg in it. Epsom salt will work for MG, but calmag will do a better job as it has calcium too. Good Luck
