QWET for Tinctures and balm

Hi Extractors,
am looking for some answers to my QWET doubts.


i got 25 micron and 125 micron stainless steel sheets
i would like to use it to make Tinctures and Balms


are both sheets OK for both purposes ?


last : after QWET, how can i reuse that soaked weed for edibles ??

After Qwet there really is no value left to the weed, I've tried, it's not potent enough to qualify for use.

My goal is to do QWET and then use cannabinoids properly for tinctures and balms.

My doubt is if 25 and 125 micron stainless steel sheets can be both good for Tinctures and Balms (or 25 for Tinctures and 125 for Balm is better??)

Ok but my Qwet will 30 seconds per 2 times...and i saw that still some Thricomes are there...in any case, do you have some good advice to cook them (decarb..eccecce) ? Thx

If you are referring to filtration after the soak, I would use 25 micron or finer for both. I usually pour through a screen onto filter media, typically a commercial coffee filter sitting on top of a #1 lab filter in a Buchner funnel.

If you still have trichome heads left after a couple of soaks, you can extract the rest with a non polar solvent like vegetable oil, or with Vegetable glycerin, without picking up a huge amount of chlorophyll, like you probably will with a third soak in ethanol.

Probably u are right, but i rememeber one time i gave away for free the soaked weed (was Dr. Grinspoon strain) and who smoke it said was an amazing experience, so i tought were some thircomes left.

This time i will make compost with all that weed !

I think you said you d ok a 2 min soak? I do 5 min and still really nice, keep ethanol cold.

I would still use the 25 micron or less to minimize debris. The essential oils are dissolved, so would pass through a 0.2 micron filter if it was debris free.

Only heads dissolve, leaving behind the stems. The stems look like wet fur.

I used 25 micron as you suggested.

Now am wondering about MCT oil (c8 or whatever) and adding terpenes for tinctures...but proabably it is better to open a new post in order not to go Out Of Topic
