Forums like this attract...even breed...people with narcissistic tendencies. And yes, I would agree that something like that is pretty pathetic, but then, there are a fair amount of people here on icm and elsewhere who have nothing else BUT this forum as a means of socialization.
Having been on message boards for over a decade, I can safely say that at least 50% of what is posted on a daily basis is bullshit. Since this is a forum full of potheads, raise that to 75%+. Gotta know how to spot the BS and avoid it, which takes some practice.

I think using one's own words is great. But to put it as a quote and credit yourself as the author is just vain.
jd has a good point; message boards of all kind (yes, cannabis themed ones ARE worse) breed vanity. People are easily seduced by the idea that we never have to know the real them, so if you try hard enough you can become the most intelligent, super coolest avatar in all of cybershit. I've noticed a lot of people on here that love to describe their imaginary lives to us in silly 'cry for attention' topics.
