quietest portable ac

Hello all!,
So the tent in my closet and the closet gets a little warm
When running the 400 watter around the 90' s in day and 85ish at night.. Closet is in the bedroom.
Soo planning on installing a port. Ac in there with hot air exhausting to attic. The whole closet space is about 7'x5'x8'. So thinking about a 10,000 btu just in case for expansion latter. But I am in a town home apt and have next door neighbors so I need to get one as silent ad possible. Even though they are nice and I know them it's still best to keep it on the low... can anyone here help?

They all make noise is all I can say.

Are you running the tents exhaust into the attic already?

Thanks for the reply jnugg!
Yeah I am. It's in a gorilla tent 2x2.5'. I have the 6" hyper fan exhaust to attic. Planning to place ac in closet to lower ambient temps so it should lower the temps in tent. If passive air intake with exhoust to attic does not work to lwer temp in tent then i will just stop the exhoust to attic and just enclose the ac in closet and add c02 with no exhoust..I have read about sharp's library quiet portable ac line. What do you think?

Lol. For a few years in the beginning I did a lot of crossing and breeding with bag seeds! Lol. About 89%
Of my seed collection was imported from Mexico and south america. Man I had strains that are extinct now or
Not the same anymore......... pure sativas. And a very rare Mexican indica that was imported from michiocan from the 90's. That was a knockout!.. sorry for the rant! Lol..

1) There us NO WAY IN HELL you're going to fit a portable A/C in that small of a space and still have room to grow plants.

2) Even if they are vented, portable A/C's will add significant heat to the tent/growspace.

3) It is virtually impossible to completely seal a tent from any air leaks so supplementing with co2 is pointless and will be innefficient...it's all about environment, genetics, and skill level aka runs under the belt...PERIOD!

4) I haven't read that thread.

Also, bitd I ran a 400w HPS in a 2x2.5 area,it can be done but the light needs to be raised way up or you'll quickly see light burn/bleaching as that is a whopping 80w per square foot!

Ventilation/cooling wpuld be an extreme PITA and ambient temps would need to be even cooler if only using a 4" 170cfm inline centrifugal fan, especially if a carbon filter is used.

Sorry jnugg I was not clear. The ac is going in the closet. The grow tent is also in the closet. So the ac is going in the closet but outside of the tent. At the moment the in line fan is in the tent exhausted to attic. The ac is going to be in closet also heat ducts to be vented to attic. So with the ac cooling down the whole closet and the cool air being drawn into the tent by the in line fan and exhausted to attic, do you think this will work, with a 10,000 btu?
Thanks jnugg

Ps. I totally agree with environment, genetic, and skill level!!
The thread is gone along with OG..
Totally agree with a 4" fan. Good thing I went with the 6" hyper fan.

Good call on that fan.

Just read that sticky on calculating a/c size too though. It's a good idea to buy with thoughts of expanding, just don't buy too big.

Much obliged jnugg! I browsed the ac sticky and when I get home I will make my calculations and choose an ac based on the results.. ps. How do join the BSGA lol..
That fan is nice I must say and I'm a can fan dude. But now I'm sticking to hyperfans. Motor is super quiet and the controller works perfect. I just dial it down till I get a good balance (I try lol) of noise and temps. But with heat prob. Currently I need to have it on at least 40% full power..
